I don't get it. How can these two groups co-exist for the purpose of being MAGAts?

On one hand, you have the Proud Boys and other racist groups who have more or less pledged their lives and their future to Trump.

On the other hand, you have individuals like Candace Owens, Allen West, Armstrong Williams, etc. who are part of the #Revive Movement, who are mostly African-American and have the same strength of fidelity to Trump as the racist elements of MAGAts.

How do they reconcile their differences?

Civil war brewing inside Proud Boys as top leader says he's done pretending he isn't a Nazi

“Due to the recent failure of Proud Boy Chairman Enrique Tarrio to conduct himself with honor and courage on the battlefield, it has been decided that I Kyle Chapman reassume my post as President of Proud Boys effective immediately,” Chapman wrote. “We will no longer cuck to the left by appointing token negroes as our leaders. We will no longer allow homosexuals or other ‘undesirables’ into our ranks. We will confront the Zionist criminals who wish to destroy our civilization.”

I suspect for a very small few within the Black community, there are people who get some sort of ego trip by white conservatives who trip all over themselves to adopt that person as a “black friend” in a vain and pathetic effort to deny their racism.

I suppose they enjoy feeling being used like that, as if it makes them feel wanted, no matter how insincere it actually is.

Owens, etc... have been "freed" by the white supremacists in the GOP, to lord over everyday people of color.

.

When having discussions with them, they see themselves as White and support Trump and the rest.

Similar to how a lot of Jews support Trump and Republicans, including Stephen Miller. When in reality, if the White Supremacists ever got their way, they'd eventually be placed in one of the boxcars to a concentration camp. Mind you, it would be one of the last trains to go out, but in the end, they'd still be on one of them at some point in time.

It's such a strange perception these people have. Granted, the generalized term White has expanded in the mid 20th Century to include Italians (50s), then Greeks(60s), then Jews (60s-70s), but not to the hardcore White Supremacist. They're still the Other.

There were different party factions. Some were explicitly racist some were not. The pro-fascist Trumpists aren’t even really a party and are also somewhat diverse on various matters. Proud Boys state opposition to racism as a tactical matter since to say so openly at this time would be harmful to their ability to unite with and lead many others.

Also, some pro-fascist people who aren’t white support the idea of the US as a white country that allows some non-whites to enjoy the benefits of whiteness- something like that.

Allow themselves to be useful idiots for money. There is an article I read awhile ago about young female journalists being told to take on a certain kind of persona to be more successful. I'll have to see if I can find it again. The Kayeigh Mcninny types. Young, blonde " conservative", contrarian. That personality is more successful. See the lineup at Fox, or some of their previous folks.

Candace Owens took that route. She could not break through in a voice of so many black voices that were fighting the same fight. So to be more successful, she flipped the script. She is no different than Diamond and Silk. Grifters.

Then you have some folks, unfortunately who, at the core, hate who they are. In an ironic way, their feelings about themselves and others are tied to what they are fighting for. Black people have been hated and vilified for so long, low self esteem and self hate sets in for some people. Their defense mechanism for survival is to become like their oppressors. To be accepted by white society, they must be " different from other black people".

Enrique Tarrio is a black Cuban. Cuba has its own ugly history of racism. He has said he was drawn to the proud boys because it is similar to the environment he grew up in.
