do some nasty shit before he is done.
Now I don't think Barr resigned because he is opposed to what Trump will do.
I think he just wants to keep his hands clean so he will get a lucrative gig on his way out.
I am expecting a scorched Earth, Nero decree level of evil.

(21,635 posts)Here's hoping someone makes a good movie about the Cheeto years - and not overly sanitized, as Oliver Stone's W was.

(6,829 posts)Barr's executing people at record speed, bringing back firing squads, he's helped "King" the traitor with unprecedented powers. He's stood by as Stone, Arpaio, Flynn have been pardoned. He coordinated the teargassing/clearing of Washington Park for the repulsive church photo-op.
What do you think is going to happen that's a bridge too far?

(65,042 posts)A POTUS does not need the AG to do that. Now, normal, sane presidents want their cabinet members on board with big decisions, BEFORE they are acted upon.
But, Barr wouldn't be required.
I think the Federalists & the Dominionists are done with PIRV, so Barr got out so he can stay solid with them.
Barr doesn't care about the rubes. The resignation letter was just his way of not burning the house down, because after all, it is Bill Barr we're talking about. No honor, no scruples.

(22,124 posts)in any event, Barr is getting out to save his reputation (what little he has)...trump has lost all faith by his followers...by the time trump gets set up w/ any new replacements (for Barr, etc.) it'll be too late, even worse legal advice that he's rec'd over fighting the stupid at least 60+ lawsuits lost already fighting election results.
Any other person that would take Barr's place would have a difficult time in proceeding with anything nefarious that was in such a short time frame properly and legally prepared. In what, 40+ days? IMHO.
I understand that in every election that folks get upset, that votes etc. were counted, discounted, etc. every which way one can think of, so the extreme vetting of election vetting now that we're going through now, re-verify, re-verify, etc. whatever, voter counts, etc., it's just gives us more support for our results, for our win.

(25,326 posts)Barr is only 70, so I guess he didn't want to be "fired". Maybe it would ruin his chance of getting a job a Liberty Univ?
Yesterday, Barr said he would not resign unless Trump planned to fire him.

(7,510 posts)Rosen, who Trump said was an outstanding person, raised eyebrows when he was nominated in February 2019. A veteran of the Department of Transportation in the George W. Bush and Trump administrations, he had no experience in the Justice department or as a prosecutor. Yet Trump nominated Rosen reportedly at Barrs behest.

(32,704 posts)and high-pitched shrieks from Democrats about not arresting political opponents and their children. He'll let the outrage go on for the final two weeks of his presidency, and then he'll pardon Hunter (and himself) with a fake, reality show speech about unity.
tRump's expectation is that Democrats will be held to the same standard with regard to him and his children.
