When people used to go shopping at a mall
there was a tree from which one could pick a wish and fulfill it by putting the gift under the tree, to be delivered to the wisher.
Where does one go now to help those in need for a gift?

1. Call your local school, church or food pantry. They'll know.
However, with the covid a lot of them are just asking for the cash instead. What good is a new set of clothes or a toy if they are homeless or hungry...

a local food bank donation might be the answer at this point.

You can read children's letters to Santa and donate what you want

5. The Post Office used to keep letters to Santa you could read and pick from. I did that one year
and delivered presents. We announced ourselves as Santa's helpers. Good memories.

6. Check your local newspaper.
You might be see something advertised there. In my town, our local Presbyterian church has a Secret Santa program. There's also Toys for Tots, and animal shelters, and women's and children's shelters often have "wish" lists. If they have a web page, you can find the wish list there. Some of them, like my local ASPCA even have an Amazon page, where you can buy supplies and have them shipped directly to the shelter.

12. Everyone is so excited!
We won’t be together, but we are gonna make it rain on a very special person, who has had a difficult year.
The whole rest of our extended family is giving liquor gifts, or lottery tickets. We wanted to limit everyone’s time in public. |
