Betsy DeVos Warns That Biden Will Pick Education Secretary with Background in Education
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Calling the prospect a “nightmare scenario,” Betsy DeVos warned that President-elect Joe Biden will pick an Education Secretary with a background in education.
The outgoing Education Secretary warned that putting someone with a “pro-education bias” in her job would be like “naming a fox to be Secretary of Hens.”
“For the past four years, I have worked tirelessly to keep our schools free from education,” she said. “It deeply saddens me to think that all of my hard work will go to waste.”
Even more alarming, she said, Biden may name a “knowledgeable person” to replace her, a decision she called “disastrous.”
“In order to be impartial toward education, an Education Secretary must be as ignorant as possible,” she said. “I don’t mean to boast, but I am going to be a tough act to follow in that respect.”
In total, she said, Biden’s plans for education may be the “most radical aspect” of the Democratic Party agenda. “Forget about defunding the police,” she said. “He is talking about funding the schools.”

But I agree that it's unlikely to happen, Trump has engaged in to much nepotism that President Biden wouldn't consider it even though Dr. Biden is actually qualified.

Well, at least you recognized Borowitz! I don't know how many times DUers have read it and still taken it seriously. Blame Borowitz! These days, his satire comes frighteningly close to the truth...

With Trump, I'm amazed that he doesn't come up with more than one a day! On the contrary, more than half of the actual news that we hear seems completely unbelievable - and that's more than once a day! Trump has been a gift to comedians and satirists alike, but I'm guessing that not one of the ones we like here would favor keeping him around.
And you're sure right about me being a New Yorker! After yesterday's epic storm, much shut down in these parts (including my doctor's office!) and I have yet to dig out! Hang in there!

I think the total here was 33 inches, must be close to a record - and it's been so cold that nothing's melting, we're still digging out! My poor dog does not want to go outside, he has an area cleared for him, but I think he's intimidated by being surrounded by walls! You stay warm and healthy, too! This was not an encouraging start for the winter, when I left the house on Wednesday afternoon, there wasn't one flake on the ground!
