Mustn't forget those socialized costs. The filthy rich want to pretend that they got that way all by their own effort. They don't want to acknowledge the infrastructure and economic system that WE built, nor do they want to acknowledge the exploitation of those systems and us.

Same Horatio Alger bullshit Americans have been fed for decades.

Note to Americans: the chances you have of moving up to an economic class above that into which you were born are close to nothing. The self-made man mantra is dogshit.

Even if taxes were raised back to Eisenhower levels, the super-rich would still be rich beyond their wildest dreams. Their lives wouldn't be affected AT ALL. That's what they never seem to get: when they want to eliminate programs for the poor and cut services to most of us, it actually hurts people.

If we got our way, they might have to get by on just three vacation houses and two yachts. O the Humanity!!

It makes rich people better employers.

And well-paid workers, with some disposable income, will make rich people richer. I realize that a flow-chart diagramming that concept would be complex enough to make right-wing heads spin. And that's why they don't like thinking socioeconomic problems through properly.

Republicans are lazy do-nothings who want to keep the passengers on a sinking ship living in a comfortable, thought-free dream world instead of keeping the ship from sinking. The name of the game is positive sum. Everyone wins. Dems know that. We're not shackled to Republican defeatism and division always telling us otherwise.

We don't want to make rich people "poorer". You can only make a rich person less rich, unless you take EVERYTHING away from them and make them poor. Democrats do not want to take everything away from rich people. Never have. We want to make our society more equitable. We want the people who help make the rich rich, to have enough to eat, to have a decent home, and to have some opportunities for enjoyment in life. Yes. That is exactly what we want to do.

Conservatives always have to find a way to lie.
