Police officer turns on body camera AFTER he shoots unarmed Black man

Happened in Columbus, Ohio. Way to circumvent accountability AGAIN!

A police officer who shot and killed a Black man holding a cellphone in Ohio's capital city early Tuesday did not activate his body camera beforehand, and dash cameras on the officers' cruiser were also not activated, city officials said. Because of an automatic "look back" feature on the body camera, the shooting was captured on video but without audio, according to Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther and the city's department of public safety.

As a result, there's no way to hear what the 47-year-old man or the officer said during the interaction, Ginther said.

How about "smart guns" that will not engage unless body cameras are on? Midnight Writer Dec 2020 #10
That sounds premeditated to me. Especially if his camera is always on for everything else Vivienne235729 Dec 2020 #11

I’ve lived here 43 years, and there is much to both like and dislike about it. And the balance seems to be shifting more toward dislike.
