I've seen it so much, that I accept it as 'normal' behavior. Not 'normal' as in right or good, but that there are just tons of people out there that wrongfully believe this.

They've told me that they've read 'all' the studies, and I should educate myself. Of course, when I ask which studies I should read, they can't name any of them. (I guess there are just too many to name just one).

I've heard this argument, and seen it online:

"If masks work, and staying six feet apart work, why do we need to do both?"

Best answer to that one I read: "If seat belts work, and air bags work, how come we have both?"

They're binary thinkers. It's all or nothing. Mitigation isn't a thing to them (They literally can't/won't grasp the concept).

But in the end, they're folks that not only don't like admitting they were wrong...they just can't do it. Hell, I don't like being wrong. Nobody likes to lose. But at the end of the day when you get new evidence that solidly contradicts what you believe, you should change your mind. For most folks there's no shame in that, but for them there is.
