RIP, man.
Taught me that a Les Paul Junior is a lot of guitar.

(76,706 posts)I saw Leslie 10 or so years back opening the show for Joe Satriani.
I was amazed at the weight he lost. I remember thinking "What did he do with the other half of Mountain?"
Very fun show, especially the jam at the end. Well, this is the song Leslie ended the set with. He didn't sing it as well as Felix, but still was great!
My favorite Mountain song.

(3,922 posts)I had a friend awhile back that was a tremendous guitar player.
He told me Leslie West was the greatest of them all.
Years later I had to chance to see Leslie West live with Corky Laing on drums in a small theater. Not sure I'd include him on Mt. Guitar Rushmore but he was very good and very innovative.

(9,101 posts)For most people in the UK, our introduction (indeed, for many, our only exposure) to Mountain would have been the Sunday Weekend World TV current affairs show, which used the ending instrumental section as its theme tune. It certainly pinned your ears back.
