Due to serious health concerns, I have been in self quarantine for 9+ months, and will continue that self quarantine for at least another 6 months or so. Most of my family has gone back to some form of family celebration by following coronavirus guidelines. Most family units have mask wearing in their homes with some form of social distancing during their get-togethers. I need to be satisfied with phone calls, on-line contacts, cards, etc. I have a quarantine life style that hopfully will allow me to be present at future family gatherings. Stay safe, stay healthy, and Merry Christmas!

for anyone who gives a sh*t about others.

All those people who call themselves pro-life, who pretended to care about lives lost in Benghazi or on 911 don't have a problem with 3,000 of their fellow Ameticans a day dying. They only pretend to care when they can use it for political gain.

because it's outdoors and with ocean breezes, nasty airborne droplets are dispersed away from people. I don't really understand it, because in a way I wonder why the moving air doesn't spread them more, but I'll believe the scientists on this.

My sibliings and mother are violating state regulations and gathering inside her condo. My husband is visiting his brother who is home detween chemo treatments and would otherwise be alone. Just the two of them and they'll distance & wear masks.

He couldn't bear to not go there. And I couldn't bring myself to go anywhere. So, here I am, pretending it's just another day.

Too many people/family we know think it’s over and claim that we just need to get “comfortable” with it. I reply that science doesn’t work that way, and I’ve heard intubation is never comfortable.

Stay safe everyone! Merry Christmas! 🎄

Couldn't wait for the nurse to take that thing out. No desire to experience that again. Do not want.

Doing my best to avoid catching the 'rona or spreading it. These holidays have sucked, but it's okay. Some things are more important than momentary pleasure.

you are better off. This is not the year for it.

My sister who we see often anyway, arrived just before snow yesterday. They predicted 1'5", we got 5.5". We lost power for about 4 hours last night but stayed warm.

Today it is beautiful, sunny and in the 20s.

We rarely have a white Christmas in East TN. but then this is an unusual year.

My husband went out to check on the outdoor wood burning furnace last night at 10:45 when the power came back on...he came in talking about "Dr. Zhivago". I saw why this morning....everything covered in snow...everything.

Which I am that as well. I am sad because there will be more deaths due to stupid idiots, yet I am still here wasting time and resources. Maybe... maybe... I will get lucky and my nightmare will be over soon enough. It amazes me that some people are pretty much ready to leave this world but we are seen as needing help, when the real help needed is for those who have a full life ahead of them, yet are in danger due to covidiots. I see no reason to think that the rational folks in this country will be able to do anything about this, as we have had more than enough need for rationality going back decades and still nothing.

Sorry... the only place I blow smoke is up in the air...

I cooked my usual Christmas Eve dinner but there were only three of us around the table this year. I packed up and delivered dinners for parents and my son's household. We opened gifts together virtually on Christmas morning.

Last night my mom told me that one of my nieces and her hubby are insisting on an in-person visit this weekend. My parents are elderly with significant medical issues. The niece works in a doctor's office and her SO is an EMT. Mom said she tried to discourage the visit but my niece kept insisting they were both "fine". I told her it is her right to say no, but I think the visit is going to happen.

I am FURIOUS.
