McConnell's "concession" was that he wanted $300 checks. $2000 checks were never going to happen.

I'm a little stunned that the conversation is even happening. There was no way in hell that Republicans were going to sign off on $2000 checks. It seems like this was all just a convenient way for Trump to publicly spank McConnell while playing to his base.

the GOP is all about the control of their Constituents with minimal monetary gains at the behest of their Corporate Sponsors. Poverty and Policies to retard Social Economic upward movement of their Constituents has always been their game plan.

As long as their Poorest White Person has on Penny more than their Black or Brown Skin neighbor, all is well in their minds. Social and Economic measures have kept the GOP viable since the end of the Civil War.

The Republican party wants as much money as possible in the hands of a tiny elite class, with a large, poorly-educated underclass for the elites to exploit. That's the goal.

McConnel waived them aside whenever they indicated so. Whatever the inside story is on that I don’t really care. It’s all dysfunctional behavior.
