With less than one month until he leaves office, President Donald Trump on Saturday lashed out at the US Supreme Court over its refusal to intervene in the 2020 election, which Trump lost to President-elect Joe Biden.
"The U.S. Supreme Court has been totally incompetent and weak on the massive Election Fraud that took place in the 2020 Presidential Election," he said in a tweet just before 9 a.m. Saturday. "We have absolute PROOF, but they don't want to see it - No 'standing', they say. If we have corrupt elections, we have no country!"
During his term in office, Trump successfully nominated three justices to the court: Justice Neil Gorsuch in 2017, Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2018, and most recently, Justice Amy Coney Barrett in 2020.
Trump has previously complained about his lack of standing to bring his desired lawsuits, which is the legal concept of whether a person has the legal ability to bring a particular lawsuit before a particular court. Trump and his campaign turned to legal challenges immediately following his loss, but he and Republican officials have won zero of at least 40 challenges they've filed.

(115,900 posts)on the federal courts. It's always there in the sense that politicians will appoint judges who they think will decide cases in agreement with a particular political philosophy. But it doesn't always work that way (Earl Warren being a prime example); more importantly, the judges don't have to worry about being fired if they don't toe some president's line. Anyhow, Trump isn't a true conservative or a true anything - he has no political philosophy and cares only about what benefits himself, either politically or personally. So the fact that he has appointed conservative judges to keep the MAGAts voting for him doesn't mean those judges will do his bidding. He's starting to see that but he doesn't comprehend the difference between the law and what he wants.

(57,355 posts)... write $2,000 checks! Or use the CDC or the network of federal of state and county health officials and contracts and contacts to bring up production of vaccine or even simple effective
PPE or mandating masks. Or getting vaccine to those most necessary to have it. Or who the target people are.
All that's left is the election.
I bet there's going to be a dirty little black market associated with this vaccine.

trump's great brain still can seem to grasp basic legal realities. All he knows is he appointed them and they didn't do what he wanted.
