(81,277 posts)He is so delusional, paranoid, manic, with drug abuse, he needs to be monitored.
It will take a psychotropic cocktail over several weeks I think to get him manageable.
I cannot see any sensible practitioner taking him on in an outpatient setting.
Just to detox him from the adderall is going to take some time and is possibly dangerous.

(81,277 posts)And patients respond well usually.
But with just baseline personality disorders, they are making some progress now with med cocktails
and newer meds. But typically the PDs don't respond as well as other disorders to meds.
However Trump is now displaying psychotic disorders, paranoia and delusional.
Also obviously mood disorders, manic and depressed.
There are very good meds for these symptoms.
But it would take awhile to stabilize him.
Also he is addicted to adderall, and he would have to de-tox first.
I cannot imagine anyone wanting to treat him outpatient at this point.
He needs to go inpatient.
On another note, the disclaimer by Twitter is pathetic. "Disputed" implies that there is a case for the election having been stolen. But Trump enabling is another subject.

(53,194 posts)Gotta tell ya, I would simply LOVE to get a jar of his piss and send it to LabCorp for their special 200-Drug Screen. I'm going to pull a Frist here and claim Trump suffers from polypharmacy, which is the use of many drugs to treat one condition. Trump's condition is, of course, that he's fucking nuts and there's a really good chance they're just pumping anything they can into him to keep him from becoming physically violent.
Irish_Dem
(81,277 posts)Maybe it is all the adderall abuse making him psychotic, paranoid and delusional,
which is typical of stimulant addiction and abuse.

(7,947 posts)I asked the auntie, the "legacy Republican" ("My daddy always voted Republican, so I do too" arggh).
She said, "Well, he's being stupid, and he should just accept it and quit. I never did like him. I always thought he was a bad person."
I== pushing my luck-- "So knowing now how bad he is, do you regret voting for him? Twice?"
"No, of course not. I couldn't vote for a socialist."
Arrgggh.
LizBeth
(11,222 posts)who is 70 say, well my parents voted Republican. I mean that would be back in the 50's-70's. Who decides their politics at 70, decades later, by what a late parent did. I have thought about that a coupe times since she said it. I have never based my voting on what my daddy did. Why do we assume he is all knowing.
Anyway, I do have Trumpers and I do not have any idea what they think. I had one the other day tell me Fauci said the nation, Trump did everything he could have. We ended up in a nu uh, uh hu, nu uh and I told him I wouldn't talk about it and concluded I am right, you are wrong. Left it at that. Not a day or two went by before the emails about wanting herd immunity in July.
I was right, he was wrong.
I refuse to have any political conversations with Trumpers and threaten hanging up on them cause they do not take no the first second or third time.

(7,947 posts)To a cute Santa in a mask meme with a self-righteous declaration that he'd rather die than live in conformity. Yes, He does wear a seat belt and obey traffic laws.
The difference is simply Trump didn't tell him not to wear a seat belt, so he is allowed to do that! He righteously talks about freedom from conforming, but we all know if in May, Trump had told his followers to wear a mask, tom would be wearing one in the shower now. All that matters is doing what Trump says, or at least proclaiming it. (I think his cancer survivor wife would throw him out if he actually attended parties and went to the store maskless.)

He is also said to be addicted to adderall which confuses the picture, it can cause
psychotic symptoms.
Which is worse, a psychotic or sociopath president?

(20,049 posts)What does he have to lose at this point? He wants to harm those who weren't loyal to his self perceived greatness and hook as many suckers as he can on the way out.
He's not a mentally well person, but I don't think he's necessarily more unhinged now than he was when he took office. He's just angry and unfettered now. We're getting a dose of the Don working a small group for a stylized grift of his design. All his selfishness, hate and anger are now more apparent, because they don't care about it. He need not worry about anyone but his hard right base, and is just playing them by feeding them what he's taught them to believe is real. They're his only concern now.
