I figured out how to tell if Trump is planning to return to Washington

Check Air Force One and see if the bric-a-brac and tokens are all missing. My guess is that if this were his last ride, he would have packed a bag full of these things which are quite saleable on eBay or perhaps to his friends in North Korea, Saudi Arabia, and other countries which eschew the democratic process.

The late Romanian dictator was famous for stealing decorative objects from his guest rooms in other heads of states' residences.

Meeting a fate like that of Ceausescu and his wife would be horrible.

Perhaps karma will be tricked by my clever ruse.

But in this case, mostly because it would martyrize him in the eyes of millions - and what would be the point of that.

No, no. Death is too good for him. He deserves life in prison - plus total civil forfeiture of all assets.

And asses (Melania, Ivanka, his numerous mistresses etc.).

They literally had to flee Bucharest for their lives without so much as a change of clothes: they were wearing the same outfits they did at that famous speech where agents (of unknown origin) began firing into the crowd - so we know they had no time to take anything with them.

Since most of the following regimes were just as larcenous as they were (if not more), it's safe to assume that post-Ceaucescu officials probably absconded with any valuables the couple left behind.

My maternal grandparents were both born in Romania. My mother was born in the States, but raised in Romania.

I am not a violent person, I shed no tears for what happened to him. He was an evil piece of shit!

One of the nicest people I've ever met was Romanian: an engineer named Radu.

He had left Romania in the '70s, and lived in the Netherlands. I believe he's since passed on.

As he still had most of his relatives in Romania, he was reluctant to discuss Ceaucescu (this was in the closing years of his regime). Sometimes silence says more than words.

Thanks for sharing your family's experience. Nothing illustrates like first-hand accounts.
