Watching it. I’ve read all JQ’s books and was excited to see it on screen. I am really struggling this morning as I am definitely not a night person. But I just couldn’t stop!!

The only thing that stopped me from watching all 8 in a row is that I want to savor them. These are the series that I wish had 22 episodes. Lol.

Obviously loosely based. I’m actually surprised that the women have a voice so much. It’s really cool. The men try to control but the women do seem to actually control.

For not fathering any children seemed contrived and sophomoric. The intimate sex scenes were adult and well done without being tawdry.

As in any good story, it's the supporting characters and all the convoluted subplots that added depth to the story. The ending was neatly done, tying up all the loose ends to finish with such of completion.

After watching AVATAR in Extended Edition. Forgot how amazing that movie was. Much better than the Hurt Locker .

Cannot wait to watch more of Bridgerton.

Of the color in the sets and costumes is amazing. It's a real lift up from all of the other dark shows on TV lately.

Did anyone but me notice that at the first Deb ball in the first episode the song they were playing was a classical version of Arianna Grande's 'Thank you, Next'? It made me laugh! I also LOVE how the cast is multi racial when normally in these period pieces everyone is white. We're only 2 episodes in but it's a fun watch so far.

No romance, just f*cking - in the garden, on the stairs, against a wall or two, behind a curtain, at an orgy, and sometimes in bed.
No chemistry between the leads of Simon and Daphne and the actor who played Simon was so wooden I heard woodpeckers. They are not Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen or Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. No "burning" was evident.
Secondary characters - the mothers, Pen, Eloise, and Mrs Danbury, were all more interesting and lively.

That said, I would watch another season.

The color-blind casting is a fantastic move.

Still falls prey to many TV Drama tropes, including what I call the "Three's Company" plot device: THE major conflict of the entire series is a misunderstanding that would vanish if the protagonist just explained himself (which he'll eventually do).

It's not "The Great" (which was also color-blind casting), but it's miles ahead of most Peak TV fare.
