(58,785 posts)desired change in societal or institutional behavior. Voters to holler for more police and vote Republican, oil companies to pay terrorists not to blow up their oil fields, parents to withdraw their children from public schools, etc.
That mass murderer in Las Vegan was a terrorist by NV law just because he murdered a lot of people, but not by federal law.

(58,785 posts)L.A. in the 1990s claiming they were going because everything was so NEW and nice. Ten years is the average economic life span of those "new" strip malls they admired so much, their wonderful new homes now look like they were built in the 90s, have 25 year old kitchens and need new roofs, and they learned long ago that they couldn't just mow the weeds that popped up in their low-maintenance gravel groundcover. Oh, and it's no more all white than L.A. was.
