when will the Senate take up Defense bill veto override and $2000 checks?

Anyone know how soon his will happen? tonight? tomorrow?

Also if the majority leader won't bring a bill to the floor, is there any way for it to get there? i mean... what if 51... or for that matter 99 Senators demanded it?

Who knows what BS will be played though and if they'll debate for hours on end or what.

In general though the Senate is very special in that anyone can bring a bill and anyone can vote for it. Mitch, as Majority leader, is given priority as per tradition, and therefore runs the order of business. But you need 60 votes to be able to vote for anything if someone objects. Mitch has his party on lock, they do not do anything without his say so, so this is how so many bills are prevented from coming to the floor. Meanwhile if someone basically says "I filibuster" it means that, for that bill, all proceedings are stopped indefinitely (unless the 60 vote override is achieved by another Senator). This has its upsides in that the entire body isn't locked down by one guy speaking indefinitely and making agreements with others to speak indefinitely to keep bills from passing. But it has downsides in that votes are never tabled.

Presumably Schumer will be permitted to push the bill forward tomorrow, at which point Mitch is in a bind. Can he call for his 50 senators to keep it from coming to a vote? Historically he has done so on virtually every, single, bill. He tells them don't vote for it, they listen. Otherwise Mitch can say "do what you want." Either way it's a very bad look if they don't allow the vote to be voted on.
