Ex-Pence aide turned Trump critic 'very concerned' about Jan. 6 violence

A former aide to Vice President Pence who has since become a vocal critic of the Trump administration warned Monday that she feared violence could erupt in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, when Congress will formally certify President-elect Joe Biden's Electoral College victory.

"I'm actually very concerned that there will be violence on Jan. 6 because the president himself is encouraging it," Olivia Troye said in an appearance on MSNBC's "Deadline," shared by Mediaite.

"This is what he does. He tweets, he incites it, and he gets followers and supporters to behave in this manner, and they believe they are being patriots because they're supporting the president," she added.

Trump tweeted Sunday "See you in Washington, DC, on January 6th. Don't miss it. Information to follow!"

They know exactly what they are doing, and when this finally settles down they all should be held to account.

This is making the days before the election look positively blissful. I can foresee chaos breaking out on the House floor when the results are finally certified, thanks to the treasonous bastards of the GOP.

These are the most dangerous times this country has faced since the runup to the Civil War.

I will curse Donald Trump until my last earthly breath.

who don't obey orders to disperse and leave. Our inaugurations of new presidents are magnificent, peaceful events that many in other nations envy greatly. They aren't opportunities for fools and creeps to rumble in the streets of our capital.

Btw, where WERE all these MIA insurrectionists on and before election day? The authorities were on it, and we should assume they haven't stopped.

I'll believe those agencies are serious when they arrest all the "boys" they way they have people on "our" side of the equation who were peacefully and legally protesting.

When the streets where they walk, drink, and threaten are filled with police in riot gear, carrying blank warrants and batons, as "officers" did in Portland.

When I see their leaders and speakers sitting in the dock awaiting bail. When their gatherings are over-run and dispersed by police vehicles. Then I will say the authorities take the threat seriously.

Until then anything can and sadly probably will happen with little if any interference by police and other authorities. IMO those institutions are waiting to see blood on the streets before they act, and like as not making side bets on how many civilians the "boys" will hurt.

I have seen these people in person when I lived in NC. They are not shy about attacking when they think police will hold back. Police seem to have the idea that this is basically 2 street gangs fighting over turf. They'd rather not get involved and possibly get hurt themselves. Instead they'll allow a certain degree of confrontation to escalate into physical violence so they can arrest people from both groups and so appear to be intolerant of either group.

Their striking absence after months of aggressive noise and promises of violence should be an UNMISSABLE clue that "those agencies" are serious.

As for DC, as you must know but many others don't, one of its big functions is to provide citizens with many places to publicly demonstrate at the nation's capital. On any day there are many groups demonstrating. And the DC police are pros at trying to serve both the rights and safety of everyone.

This is the point they've been told for years that the violence will begin: the race war to settle everything and lead to their ascension to Trump's Right Hand.

All very well for DC police to allow appropriate public display. I've seen them managing Peace Marchers and others. I 'm not referring to that.

I'm talking about the bunch who expect to be attacking police and others with more than words and attitude. Who've been training for this event because they imagine it will be their version of Lexington and Concord. This will be more like boogaloo element who ran through BLM demonstrations to start the looting and damage carrying hammers, bats and fire bombs. If you missed that distinction you weren't reading the details close enough. Think of Charlottesville or Portland times 10 and you'll have the picture I'm trying to make clearer.

The FBI and DHS have both made a point about how serious they take the domestic terror threat posed by the boogaloo gang and other similar violent and armed groups. What we haven't seen yet is any disruption of their activities or public preparation for defending against this. Not one of their leadership is in jail nor have they been charged for the threats they have made publicly.

I lived in NC for 36 years. I have seen what it looks like when authorities take a genuinely violent threat like this seriously as opposed to when they think "we" are the problem they plan to encounter. When they take Boogaloo and the other street gangs seriously you'll see the difference too. It won't be subtle and it won't be passive.

periods when doomsayers predicted the death of our republic, by suicide of course.

I question your evaluation of the competence and intentions of our various law enforcement agencies at all levels.

And again, that you've given no thought to the failure of white power and other domestic terrorist individuals and groups to come through as promised on election day, much less affect the election. The new threats are a fall-back after huge failure.

Last, I'll callously but realistically point out that in a nation of 330,000,000 people, even a few thousand people dead if a terrorist plan is not caught, although very tragic, is not exactly an unrecoverable loss. If someone's shot here and others run down there, while our republic's 45th peaceful transition of power takes place at the Capitol, America will hear about it the way we always do, in the safety and comfort of our own homes, cars, work places.

The Police are a fucking large part of the problem. No standards, the bad ones get promoted and hire more like them - until we got defacto Brownshirts in a lot of localities.

And the decent ones stand back and hide behind "The Code of Silence". Fuck them too.

He gins up an argument and taunts both sides saying, “let’s you and him fight”.

That way he never has a bruise or contusion but stands off to the side encouraging others to do the dirty work for him or in his name. He also sweetens the pot by offering to pay the legal fees if there are any. Notice he isn’t offering to serve your sentence if you get convicted of a crime.

He did this repeatedly at his rallies. He won’t soil his hands but he sure wants you to get into the fray. Sadly, his minions cannot see they are being used. It speaks loudly to their gullibility and stupidity. I would love to see the judge’s face in such a situation where the defendant tries to explain why they did it by pointing to tRump and saying, “But he told me to do it.”
