(5,271 posts)Very glad I mailed all my holiday gifts around Thanksgiving instead of waiting until December. They all arrived quickly by USPS. But friends have said packages they mailed by priority mail the first week of December are still sitting in various sorting locations according to tracking.

(20,726 posts)The one that went a few hours drive away into the country got there really fast.
2 going to different NYC boroughs still haven't arrived, and the one that needs to cross the country can't even be tracked.
So, whatever is going wrong is local.

(26,111 posts)Would any of us still have a job if our performance/output/metrics dropped by 22%?
No.
DeJoy can be fired for performance.
A friend sent me a very small package Priority. Supposed to be delivered December 9. Still not here. PRIORITY. It has been up and down the Est Coast literally five times, and has been stuck an hour from me for five days.

(10,885 posts)on 12/4 and that got stuck in Stamford, CT for 3 weeks without movement or update of tracking, this morning as I was taking my bath, having put my "Do Not Disturb" sign on my doorknob, dontcha' know the USPS carrier attempted to deliver my package which requires my signature. Did he leave an "Attempted Delivery" notice - no, of course not. Was the tracking updated to show it had moved from CT to RI - no, of course not. (And why is it that he's the only person who pays attention to my doorsign? No one else does.)
The only way I knew he had been here was the later receipt of an e-mail telling me about the attempt. In that e-mail was a link to arrange for a Redelivery. Follow link, go to USPS website to fill out request form on which it asks for "Redelivery Type" (?) in block with a drop-down menu...does it work? No, of course not...button is inoperable, and form cannot be submitted without this button enabled. Call the Post Office - three hour wait if I want to stay in queue, or register for a callback. Finally, FOUR hours later, USPS calls me back to reschedule. So much for my day, and I still don't have my package.
*and- damn - I don't even want a new phone, but had to order b/c I ran out of 3G technology coverage and HAD to upgrade.

Cards were mailed to my kids in Sweden on 11/25. Card to adults arrived on 12/16. Cards to g-children with $$$ were nowhere in sight until their arrival today, 12/29. Gift package still among the missing.
DeJoy needs to go to DeJail.
