If GOP "Patriots" "honor the founding fathers", why do so many presume they must have been idiots?

If nothing else is clear from American history, it is that the men who signed the Declaration of Independence and ratified the U.S. Constitution feared the emergence of a monarchy and/or tyranny in America. They obsessed over the types of constraints that needed to be placed on excessive executive power, and they littered the constitution with all kinds of checks and balances over the concentration of power in any governmental institution. So...

Why on earth can anyone pretend now that it was the "original intent" of the founders to allow an American President to pardon himself from all crimes that he may have committed while in office?

And in whose feverish dream would the founders have given the constitutional authority for a sitting Vice President of the United States to decide on his own authority, acting as President of the U.S. Senate, which State Electoral College votes would be opened, counted, and thus potentially certified by Congress, and which State Electoral College votes would be set aside uncounted, thereby effectively determining which candidate for President would win the most Electoral College votes based on his or her say only?

And yet supposedly rational legal minds on the Right bend over backwards to pretend that both of the above scenarios are fully Constitutional based on their reading of the U.S. Constitution, based on their their idea of "original intent." These so called legal minds couldn't tie Benjamin Franklin's shoe laces.

reality is they don't care about the constitution which they swore to uphold, the Republic or the American people...they simply love and crave absolute power. They are indeed the Fascist Party which is why Nazi types like Proud Boys love them.

This certainly is not original intent.

They are always jumping to conclusion, pushing their luck, running down Americans, dodging responsibilities.

Here are a couple from George Washington that they were not fans of.

The Quarantine of the entire City of Boston and force inoculation of his troops for Small Pox.

Another oldie but goodie ignore by them.

In 1731 an act, entitled "An Act to Prevent Persons From Concealing the Smallpox", was passed. This act made the heads of households mandatory reporters for smallpox; these individuals were required to report smallpox in their house to the selectmen of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Infected households would then be indicated with the placement of a red flag.
In South Carolina, sentinels were to be posted outside infected households and infectious notices were required to be posted. In many colonies islands were set up to quarantine individuals coming in by ship. This decreased the chances of smallpox being introduced via trade or travel. By the late 1700s, almost all colonies had quarantine laws in effect in order to diminish the hugely damaging effects that smallpox could have on their communities.

And now they say Governors can't order people to wear masks in public, while simultaneously defending the imposition of martial law to force new elections on selected States.

And some are saying the incumbent vice president should choose the next president which would lead to one party rule.

Similarly, some religious figures have appropriated the supposed authority to determine for everyone what their scriptures mean.
