Two old men touching your naked body under a flimsy poncho and oiling and washing your body was not all it was cracked up to be.

Granted pantomiming my own death in three different ways if I revealed the secret handshakes still freaks me out. But what do you expect when the founder had sex with 14 year olds girls by threatening them with death of their whole families if they didn’t marry him.

But remember in this culture, many of us were not exposed to anything about being gay that was honest. We were taught lies about homosexuality and to fear it. I know I have a lot of information to catch up on. Mostly the subject of homosexuality was just a black box that we knew nothing about and what was revealed to us was shameful. My generation is trying to catch up to the facts and trying to shed the biases we were taught. Please help us and try to remember we are trying to learn better, even as we reveal the biases we were taught and the ignorance that lingers and that we continue to try to overcome.

Can’t cook worth a shit but we can rewire your house or fix your plumbing.

We just bought a house but haven’t moved in yet. We’ve been running back and forth doing little projects.

I think we are being sized up by the three neighbor moms. I’m sure they’ve figured it out by now. I feel like a piece of meat.

But that’s ok, they look like they might be fun. AND they had Black Lives Matter signs on their front lawns. Which is a very good sign. It helped sell the house. I think one of the other houses had a teacher union sign too!

I’ll seal the deal with the giant snowblower I just bought if we get snow. Great way to make friends.

What I was think is type in the address and 5 houses in each direction a list of people and anything they want to share and public records search.

Next door is the lost cat and dog message board. Which is great. Our neighborhood is on the WA side of the Columbia River and it thinks houses on the south side in OR are in the same “neighborhood” is an another example of next door’s shortcomings. It’s not properly fenced around a physical neighborhood.

I just want an app that tells me how many Evangelicals are in my cal-du-sac. I bought new and half of them are not cool and right wing bigots. Having good neighbors is wonderful having ones you do not like and are judged by is not fun at all.

There has been at least 6 families in our neighborhood that did not “fit” and they sold at the first chance.

One of the themes was the exasperation people with disabilities experience with well-meaning people who praise them as courageous and inspiring superheroes just for carrying out normal everyday activities. Years ago. Grew up several houses away as kids. Never knew, those days I think we assumed the gays popped out of the sky as fully grown adults. Surely your best pal wasn't gay.....
We decided to be upfront with our child about why we had split. My feelings and hope were that if we discussed this openly, someday no one else would experience the heartbreak we did as a family. Maybe our child could be the friend a person could trust to come out to. There was no animosity between us, I understood it to be a situation purely influenced by society. I couldn't quite find
my reasons then, but I knew things had to change.
I've been a full champion for equality and acceptance, so much so people speculate about me. Who cares. 3 hearts shattered in a million pieces from ignorance.

and unconventional people (40 years in different cities).

What I want to know is what would separate and distinguish "gay" people from the artists, individualists, liberally minded, etc. How do you know if someone is gay, do they wear a sign? Do artists and liberals have a certain appearance compared to gay people? I don't know which of the people I see are gay or not unless they are actually making out right in front of me. How and why are they identified as gay? Does it make a difference in being a good neighbor?

.... women, are not sisters, live together, have the same last name (married?), and rock the gay
flag @ times so I guessed them to be gay.

Does it make a difference in being a good neighbor? No, but overall "they" tend to be nice but
I have had a few G & L neighbors who were not nice people.

Log Cabin Republicans even proved that "they" can be self centered, greedy assholes just like other, normal Republicans. It’s like whom they love is irrelevant to their measure as a human being.

It’s the ultimate irony, with all of the hate in the world, finding true love makes you hated.

I love Christmas cookies. It bonds us godless heathens to the holidays.

44. After we moved out of our old house the gay neighbors saved the life of the neighbor

On the other side of his house.

One of them was a retired military officer who came out after retirement. An elderly lady moved into our house because her son purchased it. A deranged man broke in and proceeded to stab her to death. She bled out on the gay neighbors couch. Anyway the other neighbor heard the screaming and broke in to try to save her. He was stabbed in the liver. Stumbled over to the gay couples house. Because one of them was retired military he knew how to save his life. Both were honored by the city as hero’s. Best neighbors we ever had. Served us caviar on occasion as well.

To some of their neighbors, however, they might be known as "housemates."

At least within 5 houses or so each way. Otherwise, I don't know enough about anyone's personal life. I'm sure there are plenty of gay couples, just not right near me.

And Ed and Lois Smart (parents of Elizabeth and several other children) shocked all their neighbors last year.

(I haven't had the heart to tell them I dislike cheesecake when they drop off samples. More for my wife)

We've returned the favor, dropping off cookies and other baked goods, as well as some of the garlic sauce my wife invented when we owned a Caribbean/Jewish restaurant.

Who do they think they are? Neighbors? Friends? Family? People?

How dare they show compassion! How dare they share!

I did enjoy my gay neighbors, they were a fun lot before they moved away. So are my gay coworkers. Wonderful people

Fostering homeless, helpless puppies and kittens! And finding homes for them! Homes!

That's what mine did. I pass this on as a warning to all.

and when it snows, you can get together with them and smoke a doobie, along with having a cup of coffee - just by walking next door.

And even 25 years later, after you both have moved to different states, they ALWAYS remember to send you a birthday card.

Miss my gay neighbor so much. Thanks for the warning!
