That could get this person up to three and a half years in prison. I'm assuming the vials are valued at more than $50 each. If not, it would be a Class A misdemeanor (and potentially up to nine months in jail).

Outside of Milwaukee County is Trump Land, full of Fox News, Q People, white supremacy, under- educated, self-satisfied white people who want nothing to do with Milwaukee.

Or if they intentionally removed it to get a jump on thawing it for the morning.

The motive is unclear.

Either way, that sucks.

after the chain of custody was breached. There is no telling whether this individual tampered with any of the vials in order to garner negative publicity about the vaccine.

Which isn't a real thing in the law, but still.

People will die because of this. I can't tell you who, but it is a nonzero number, given how long it is going to take to vaccinate everyone in this country and all those who will get infected, pass it on, fall ill, and/or die in the meantime.

As an accident or mistake, it is tragic. As intentional, it ought to be treated like an attempted bombing.

That said, I will add a caveat that we've got no idea what the interrogation/internal investigation was like and whether the first statement or second statement more accurately represents the motive behind the action. The cynical part of my mind recognizes that the company is going to have to acknowledge the lost doses sometime, and their options are to a) admit they've currently still got a careless/incompetent employee who hurt people with their negligence, or b) admit they've fired an employee for an honest mistake, or c) admit they had hired a malicious employee who they've since fired -- and I can imagine some thinking that c) is the best way to spin this....

The armed anti-vax nutters out there are looking to strike a blow against microchipping in the name of freedom and Trump. Don't believe for a minute that they won't burn it all down out of ignorance and spite.
