Woman Accused of Refusing to Pay for Restaurant Food Allegedly Killed Teen Who Defended Server

What the hell is wrong with people lately? Killing each other over disputes about cold food now?
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/woman-accused-of-refusing-to-pay-for-restaurant-food-allegedly-killed-teen-who-defended-server/ar-BB1cnSy2?ocid=msedgdhp

A 28-year-old woman has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting an 18-year-old man to death during a large brawl in the parking lot of an Aurora, Colo., restaurant, PEOPLE confirms.

Jacqueline De Paz, 28, was charged Friday with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Rudy Arguello-Rios outside the Mariscos El Rey 2 Restaurant.

According to an Aurora police press release, De Paz was among a group of seven people who threatened to leave the eatery without paying — allegedly complaining to their server that their food was cold because of an opened door and the restaurant's outdoor vents.

Witnesses told investigators an argument between the guests and the server erupted inside the restaurant before spilling into the parking lot, according to police.

The server followed the patrons outside, demanding they pay the bill and threatening to call 911, say police.

The argument got physical when the women in the group allegedly confronted the server after she started taking pictures of their cars and license plates, say police.

It was at that point that customers from a nearby table exited the restaurant to come to the server's defense. According to police, the brawl splintered into two groups: women fighting women, and men fighting men.

According to police, one witness described seeing Arguello-Rios being attacked and knocked to the ground. Another witness recalled to police that, in the same instant, De Paz allegedly pulled out a gun and pointed at the crowd. Police say Arguello-Rios noticed this, and "stood up and ran toward" De Paz to try and take the gun away from her.

Witnesses reported hearing a gun go off. Arguello-Rios, witnesses said, didn't speak a word to his alleged killer, and was unarmed at the time of the shooting, police say.

Arguello-Rios was rushed to the Medical Center of Aurora where he later died from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police allege De Paz and the rest of the group fled the area immediately after the shooting.

to a restaurant? Meanwhile, it was a lot of commotion over a bill. Chasing after people you don't know probably isn't a good idea. Better to have called the police and if possible, take pictures of their license plates without being noticed. What a senseless and cruel loss of life.

One of our problems that is modern is personalizing and localizing media-reported incidents that are freakishly rare.

I didn't go to any state prison but was in a lot of county jails in my youth. Food was generally pretty good. My high school friend spent 6 years in Arizona State Prison in Florence AZ and he said they ate pretty good as well.

Not restaurant quality but pretty good. When you lock up somebody against their will, it is inhumane to not feed properly, at least according to many of the lawsuits. Also, many and I mean many, of those in prison are in for drug charges and such and weren't the violent murder types. Sometimes prison made them more violent when they got out, though.

Back in the late 70's and early 80's I was homeless for about 4 years. I didnt give a shit back then when both my girlfriend and then my Mom died within 3 months of each other. I really didnt give a shit and so became homeless. I got thrown in a lot of county jails back then and I liked it if there was a tough weather system coming in. And most county jails fed lots of decent food. Better than fast food and definitely better than Trump eats now. And It's easy to get thrown in for a week or two without hurting anyone.

or left it behind.

I would instruct my staff not to worry about people not paying their bills. It's not worth a life like this. The young man probably saved a life because he sought to divert her. He knew he wasn't armed.

I'd arrest and charge every last one of them that I could catch, but it would be hard to nail them all.

His poor family...
