"at least" 140 Republicans in the House will object to the DULY ELECTED AND CERTIFIED ELECTORS for the Biden/Harris ticket.
Well, that settles it, right? We all know that 1.) all Republicans in Congress have their waterfowl in sequence AND are scrupulously honest and, 2.) the GOP MINORITY has some secret way to OUTVOTE the Democratic MAJORITY.
So, Damn! I am scared witless! (Did I spell that right?)

(17,862 posts)keep enough Democratic Representatives out of the House during the vote to accept the particular states' electors.
I don't think it will happen.

(81,852 posts)Republicans were happy to vote for Obamacare repeal until it mattered. I'm wondering if they would take this action if they knew it could make a difference.
Also, can you imagine the outrage if the Democrats pulled a stunt like this, or more importantly, stole an election this way?
I think that anyone voting for a coup has instantly disgraced themselves.

(15,378 posts)The various pipe dreams I've seen going around conservative areas of the interwebtubes are placing their bets on
1. Pence overruling the votes though he has no power to.
2. Seating alternative electors, of which there are none. Just people pretending that their states have empowered them.
3. A belief that the House has to vote on objections via state delegation which is 30 to 20 in favor of republicans, but that's not the case. Objections are voted on by each member of the House (and the Senate), and the House is still democratic. So objections are essentially DOA.

(18,486 posts)People were sure Trump would steal the election on Election Night. Didn't happen. Then they were sure the courts would rule in his favor. Didn't happen. Then they were sure the Supreme Court would hand him the election. Didn't happen. Then they were sure the states wouldn't certify the election results. They certified and on time. Now they're getting apoplectic about fantasy scenarios that aren't anywhere near likely to happen on January 6.
When that doesn't happen, I wonder what they'll seize on to get worked up over.

(15,378 posts)Especially evangelical "pastors" who seem to be either completely ignorant of the process or are somehow doing a somewhat profitable grift by constantly getting their viewers' (YouTube) hopes up. Everything that they've predicted is THE THING that will turn it all around for Trump has failed, but their followers are so cultishly dedicated to Trump as well as willing to believe whatever bullshit comes out of a "man" of god, that they stay on singing both their praises.

America is now ungovernable, no longer a democracy, and not the beacon on the hill.
We are in the midst of losing our superpower status, our power is unraveling.
Look to Russian and China to take our place.

Signifying nothing.
