What will we get in an uproar about when we don't have Trump to pick on any more?

I have only been here for a year but damned if it hasn't been an interesting year to talk politics. If we settle into good governance for the next four years what will keep the juices going?

I know that we have Republican Senators to put in the road, and we could use a boost in the House. I would like some help sending my governor to somewhere appropriate, maybe Uganda, Yemen or Somalia where he could ply his trade until replaced by the time honored methods of unstable nations. Maybe the Trump family trials will stir up some excitement.

To be truthful, I could use a few months without daily drama from DC. The past four years have been worse on me than kindergarten, calculus, and boot camp all rolled up in one....

President Biden is too easy for rethugs to get past, that he's not progressive enough, that his priorities are wrong, and on and on and on. Haven't you already seen it happening a bit here and there? Call me a cynic, it's okay because I am one. Joe will not be pure enough.

QAnon reps from Colorado and Georgia, that Cawthorn character from North Carolina, Nunes and his cow, Issa redux - then there's the usual GOP clowns like Gohmert, McCarthy, and their enablers. And the usual clowns in the Senate: even if Osoff and Warnock both win their contests, Moscow Mitch, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Mario, and Little Lindsay aren't going anywhere.

So, yes, there will be plenty to keep DU hopping for the next two years. Plus, I expect tales of corruption by Trump appointees in various cabinet departments will start coming out in February.

"I am trying to keep a sense of humor about this, so please bear with me.

I have instructed the moderators to lock new threads about chicken. If you must discuss chicken -- and, yes, I understand it is a *vitally* important topic in which you all have an intense interest -- please do so in one of the threads that was opened previously. Here's a good one:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=3496148

Go post in there. Or post here.

I think that some of you are well aware that the discussions about chicken are not about chicken at all. The purpose of these threads is to dig up an old flame war and wave it in the faces of certain people, because you want to get under their skin. To their credit, those people have not taken the bait. But we really think that a dozen threads on a topic specifically intended to bait people is really enough.

But now we are in a completely idiotic death-spiral of enforcement and boundaries-testing. The mods lock a thread, and then three spring up. And so the purpose of starting threads about chicken is no longer about tweaking a few of your fellow DUers, it's now about tweaking the moderators.

And then I get incredulous emails from people who are shocked, shocked that discussion of chicken -- chicken fercryinoutloud -- is not allowed. As if the discussion of chicken is something that is vitally important and that everyone is really interested in.

So please, if you really need to discuss chicken, do it in one of the threads that is already open on the subject. But please stop posting new threads about chicken or turkey or whatever. I know it's really fun to tweak people, especially when those people are the moderators, but I think it's time to find to something else fun to do.

Thank you for your understanding.

That's why we can't let them take back the House in 2022. As soon as they do, they'll impeach. And before you ask, "Over what?" just know that they won't NEED a reason. They'll invent one. Haven't you been paying attention lately? They invented an entire electoral fraud conspiracy out of thin air and ran with it for 2 months (and their entire loyal army of morons all believe it to their very core). They don't need REASONS. They figure out what they want to do and then make up the reasons later.

About something because republicans are always doing stupid stuff. You should have been here during Sarah Palin and her tea party folks, they started a bunch of Trumps nonsense.

The pipeline protests, Obama vs Hillary god we barely survived that.

But this all started because Bush woke many of us up when he stole the election. If it wasn't for this place after Kerry lost don't know what I would have done. We couldn't believe people re-elected him.

Anyway, there will always be stuff to talk about.

You will begin to see numerous threads about how Biden has made poor picks for his cabinet and his staff, how he is not paying enough attention to some constituency that got him elected (there are many, so take your pick), how he‘s already leaning too far to the (left/right/center—pick one), how he is too old for the job because he has not stopped all war, cured all diseases, ended poverty, hunger, homelessness and greed, and he hasn’t sent Trump to the guillotine. Give it another day, and some creative soul will resurrect the „POS used car salesman“ comment.

I doubt boredom will set in any time soon!
