Note that after this so-called audit is done, he wants the GOP-controlled state legislatures to convene special sessions to vote on changing their EC results "if needed."

So this is just a roundabout way to let those state legislatures overturn the will of the people.

They need to read the rules and the Constitution. There is no mechanism for this. Every state has certified its vote and held the vote for the Electors from that state. Congress has nothing whatever to do with that. Its job is simply to tally the votes as received.
