People are out spending their stimulus money.

Went to buy a new phone, larger screen, because I use my phone for everything. I have a refurbished chrome book but I don't use it. Anyway, I had my daughter take me to the phone store that my carrier is thru. I have a prepaid phone because it cheap, only costing $30.00 a month.

Got to the store, and couldn't believe what I was seeing. Now this is a store that hardly ever has any customers. In warm weather you can go by and see the clerks standing outside waiting customers. I kid you not.

Well, not today. They were packed with customers. Needless to say I did not get my phone today from that store. My daughter said she thinks people got their stimulus money and were getting new phones or whatever. I agreed, came home and bought the phone I wanted on Amazon.

Hopefully when I take my new phone to them to transfer my old phone to new phone they'll be less busy.

With my military discount, my iPhone 12 Pro Max was $989.

Still very much worth the money!

game systems when so many are having difficulty staying in their homes.

Nothing wrong with people using it where they want, but kind of tone deaf to post about buying computer frippery when others are being evicted.

I’m fine with my old phone (with the crack through it when I dropped it the first day lol). My check will go to my local food bank.

Wife and I have been fortunate to keep our jobs during the pandemic. Our stimulus can do better elsewhere.

because they aren't operable under the 4G and 5G technology, so replacement is necessary once the towers are updated. Could be one reason for the rush to the phone stores right now.

I use Consumer Cellular, and they advised in November that my iPhone5 would be useless in the new year. All set now, but not being a heavy phone user, I went with the iPhone SE with its bargain pricing. It's more than suitable for my needs.

These old phones are still usable if they're programmed for emergency use only and distributed to low-income and/or homeless persons so that they can be "connected" if need be. I'll be reading up a bit this week to decide where to send our small collection of old phones.

To get out, tons of cars and traffic on freeway.

I said to hubby why is everyone out? Must be going nuts like me. But we didn't stop anywhere. Like you tried one place co op for some bread but super long line because they don't allow many in. We left and went home.
