Leave the streets to the Proud Boys and let them own any violence that they create.

Whether legitimate counter protesters turn up or not, there will be enough property damage and violence for them to justify their narrative. If a single blade of grass is trampled (or even if it isn't) that's all Fox News will talk about. These people don't live in reality. You can't counter them with reality.

Better to have the legit people there documenting it.

and violently "attack" their fellow Nazis, in an attempt to incite a mass violent riot, in order to give Trump the excuse to declare Martial law, and remain in power.

The most effective counter protest genuine anti-fascists can employ is to stay home and watch the fascists fight with each other, and get hauled off to jail. The Nazi agents provocateurs can then quickly be exposed.
