His court will soon be known as the one that gave kingly powers to the President. Can't indict or convict while in office and can pardon self before going out the door.
Roberts say hello to Taney.

(25,451 posts)Roberts has been quite clear that states are in charge of elections. He's shown no signs of supporting any of Trump's nonsense.
I suspect that they'd chose not to hear any related cases unless a lower court does something unexpected. In other words, same result as the last 60 cases.

(3,282 posts)I'd like to see the Courts actually have to address this. I'd also like to see the folks on the right go nuts if Trumps 6-3 Majority rules that he can't pardon himself.

(17,862 posts)the whack job "conservatives".
Gorsuch, Kav, or ACB have any actual love for Trump. Yeah, he nominated them but they were just names he got handed. None of them are Scalia or even Thomas. Plus, it would give Democratic Presidents the same engrained power to do whatever they want. I think they would balk at that and be ok if Trump got charged with something.
This group didn't even vote to hear his election challenges. This is a conservative court, but they are much more George Bush than they are Donald Trump.
They were effectively nominated by the Heritage Foundation, not Trump. He didn't even know who these people were.

(3,282 posts)Court, not the Trump Court.
He was a useful idiot for this. It's also why McConnell isn't fighting to keep him. He hates the guy and has his majority locked up for the rest of his career unless something truly unforeseen were to happen.
Thomas is the only conservative Justice who you could imagine leaving the Court before McConnell leaves the Senate, and even then it would be 5-4.

(14,851 posts)Drumpf made clear he considered inaction to overthrow election results a crime. In actuality, he was making clear on what side the Georgia GOP Secretary of State and his nice name attorney should fall.
Dont know about Bharara, but Id also consider Dumpys actions treason.
