Jason, I appreciate you are a member of GOP who has spoken out against Trump. But you are listed as a lawyer at @FoleyandLardner and your law partner is the main lawyer advising Trump on the sedition you speak against. You need to take a stand against Foleys support of this.

Fascinating to hear the President of the United States ask an elected official to find the votes necessary to overturn a free and fair election of one of the states - and yet, there is no outrage. #WhileAmericaSlept

(174,176 posts)That is why Rudy and company never alleged voter fraud in all of the lawsuits because lying to a judge is not a good idea.
Here the pressure will be other clients being uncomfortable. Jones Day fired trump due to client pressure

Mitchells resignation came after the law firm on Monday issued a statement saying it was concerned by her role in the call. The firm noted that as a matter of policy, its attorneys do not represent any parties seeking to contest the results of the election.
The Washington Post on Sunday published audio and a transcript of the hour-long call in which Trump pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to overturn the election results. During the call, Mitchell complained that she had not been given access to certain information from Raffenspergers office, and Trump relied on her to an extraordinary degree during the call.,....
In its statement on Tuesday, the law firm said: Cleta Mitchell has informed firm management of her decision to resign from Foley & Lardner effective immediately. Ms. Mitchell concluded that her departure was in the firms best interests, as well as in her own personal best interests. We thank her for her contributions to the firm and wish her well.

"I just want to find 11,780 votes" and his threats against Raffensperger and his counsel suugesting they will be criminally prostecuted and it will be "costly" to them if they don't overturn the GA election violate 52 U.S. Code § 20511.

Were already double checking and finding dead people having voted, were going to be finding people have voted across state lines, voted in two states, illegal voting, noncitizens and that sort of thing. So we are building that case, Mitchell said, referring to the work of the Trump campaigns legal team and foreshadowing many of its claims of fraud.
In the following days, Mitchell took particular aim at Bidens win in Georgia, tweeting that the states recount was a total sham and A FAKE!!! She wrote that the effort was cover for the SOS, referring to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Responding to criticism of her appearance, she tweeted, Happy to be considered a nut job because I believe in the rule of law......
Mitchells role as a Trump legal adviser, which received widespread attention after The Washington Post on Sunday published audio and a transcript of the call, has surprised some colleagues, particularly because she is a partner at a major law firm, Foley & Lardner, that immediately faced questions about whether it endorsed such work.
In a statement Monday, the firm said it was aware of, and are concerned by, Ms. Mitchells participation in the January 2 conference call and are working to understand her involvement more thoroughly. The firm noted that as a matter of policy, its attorneys do not represent any parties seeking to contest the results of the presidential election, although it did allow attorneys to observe recounts voluntarily as private citizens.

Of course Im talking about Foley & Lardner partner Cleta Mitchells participation in Donald Trumps harassing of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to just find 11,780 votes. It seems that the never-Trump PAC The Lincoln Project has turned their attention to Biglaw over the incident.

There are already murmurs of Foley losing business over Mitchells involvement in the debacle, and tweets like these from The Lincoln Project only ups the pressure.
And they arent the only PAC paying attention to Biglaw. MeidasTouch remember they are the ones that actually drew first blood in the campaign against Jones Day has turned their attention to Foley & Lardner. One the the PACs founders, Ben Meiselas, partner at Geragos & Geragos, has been very vocal about the firms involvement, specifically when Foley attorney Jason Villalba tweeted (though hes since deleted it) about the now infamous phone call without condemning Mitchells involvement.
