11. The party was already dead. Trump and McConnell et al., are walking corpses, reanimated by

a right-wing zombie virus. That’s why they side with the pandemic and call it a hoax. The pandemic is their rancid ideology made flesh.

(By comparison, Pence with his little fly is just a boyish wannabe, hoping Mother will make him one of the walking dead. But the real zombies just smack him around because he’s a lightweight.)

13. I agree with above that Newt had a lot to do with escalating the hyper-partisan

rhetoric that broke Washington. But Reagan is also to blame with his "welfare queen" dog whistle BS. I think you can draw a fairly straight line from Reagan to Gingrich to Trump.
