The GOP is dead and will not be able to nominate a candidate in 2024.

I believe this Trump temper tantrum will result in a massive unseating of Republicans in both houses in 2022, and a dismantling of the party into Trump deplorables, regular Republicans and those who are peeling off into the Lincoln Project independents. The Trumpies won't support the rest of the party because they refused to bow down and become part of the kool-aide drinking cult of loyalty.

Democrats need to be smart, pull away from the extremes, or at least, from appearing to major in them, bide their time, get their agenda accomplished or, if they don't get control of the senate tomorrow (I think they will) make sure the obstructionist label sticks to McConnell and gang.

And I hope that after all the broken pieces fall, people like Lindsay Graham are showed their interviews from 2015/2016 where they predicted Trump would destroy their party.

Fortunately for us the stable is empty right now on the leading contenders to pick up the Trumpism mantle.

Look for that person to come out of sports or entertainment. Perhaps somebody with a service record that includes active duty in a war zone.

more incompetent and ill-fitted to be president than trump. But, I'm sure they will accept the challenge and find somebody worse.

Honestly, I'm more worried about holding onto the House in 2022.

If we don't win Both Senate races tomorrow, Turtle is going to block Everything Biden proposes. We need him to be able to hit the ground running, otherwise his agenda will get nowhere, and the Democrats will punished in 2022.

The public is stupid, and will blame the Democrats, even though it would be Turtle preventing everything.

10. There are some indications that some Republican senators won't follow the McConnell agenda

It's hard to say, but I think Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey, Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse and perhaps Maine Senator Susan Collins will at least vote to approve Biden's cabinet nominees if the Dems don't win in Georgia. Maybe Romney is part of that group. I wouldn't expect full cooperation, but enough to at least give McConnell the idea that he doesnt have absolute control.

the demise of the republican party has been foretold for years, time and time again. all we have to do, were told is to wait for them to self destruct from the inside, I promise.

and what happens? they get all strategic on us and figure out how to peel off another block of voters that just barely keeps them in power enough to NOT DIE AGAIN!!!!! Southern poor whites, farmers, gun owners, educated white women, uneducated white men, fundamentalist Christians, now Hispanics, they've figured out how to get them all to vote against their best interest and gladly vote republican.

We're told, all the dems need to do is "wait for them to die" all the old white guys are dying off, their base is shrinking, it's just a waiting game...... NO F?!/"KING WAY, THEY.... WON'T.... DIE !!!! They have plans for every contingency, they already have a plan to do more and better next time if we don't stop them.

We need to figure out a long term strategy to put a couple of nails in their coffin to keep them from rising from the dead ever again.

11. They didn't get hispanics

They made some inroads among Dade County Cubans, though they didn't get a majority of the hispanic vote there. But not much in the way of "inroads" anywhere else and they got fewer hispanics in the Southwest and Northeast. Arizona flipped because of a higher turnout for Democrats among hispanic voters. They were the difference in Nevada.

There are going to try to out do themselves to be even crazier than Trump, and that is what their electorate wants. Your mistake is in assuming that Republican voters are rational people. They are not. They are malevolent and anti-American, and they will do anything to destroy democracy. They want America to become a White Supremacist dictatorship and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals.

A mainly rural, racist and xenophobic party that continues to dwindle over time.

Anyone with half a brain will leave it to become something else.

18. Democrats must become a bigger big tent

And provide a place for former republicans to come and feel welcome.

We can jointly share the political goals of building on caring for people, not corporations. Many Democrats are missing that large swaths of republicans think that the R party is the populist party, when in fact Democrats have far more to offer to raise the standard of living.

We must welcome those who have proliferated and pro-gun views, and let them know that we are not just a one opinion only group. Much more can unite us, if we just can focus on working together on areas where we agree, and recognize that some differences can continue to be held, and still be welcome as democrats.

19. The Republicans are anything but dead and will run a clever extremist in 2024

You will cure cancer before you cure fear, jealousy, greed, and willful ignorance. There will always be support for a party fueled by all that. We will never be a nation of homogeneous benevolent Buddhist monks.

Our one possible (by no means guaranteed) ace in the hole is that Biden is well-known to some long term Republican Senators, and may be able to convince three of them on big issues that loyalty to the turtle is not more important than the nation‘s destruction.
