-snip-
"I once did a Terminator film called 'Judgment Day,'" Schwarzenegger said of his 1991 flick. "Thats just Hollywood. But January 6th is Judgment Day for a lot of politicians. Will they choose to side with the voters, or will they choose to side with their party and their selfish president?"
"For those in my party considering standing up against the voters on January 6th, know this: our grandchildren will know your names only as the villains who fought against the great American experiment and the will of the voters. You will live in infamy," wrote Schwarzenegger, who served as governor from 2003 to 2011. - The RW rag that is The Hill
Yes, we will know them by their names and remember them just as we did Benedict Arnold.

(44,494 posts)I still think he's a one-note mediocre actor, an unremarkable governor, and someone who should consider himself lucky to have avoided the MeToo era, but at least he deals in reality.
Unlike other celebrity-turned-Republican politicians.
But nobody could have played a terminator better than him.
Unlike Clint Eastwood who I can't stand anymore.

Raw Deal - "You should not drink and bake."
The Running Man - "Killian, Sub-zero, now plain zero." Although the very best line in that movie was by Yaphet Kotto as his character lay bleeding out, "I don't want to be the only asshole in heaven."

(44,494 posts)And I wouldn't say I don't enjoy many of his movies or his one liners. I just don't think we'll ever expect to see him winning an Oscar or having that one breakout role that shows an unexpected level of depth.
But that's true for so many popular actors and actresses that I enjoy.

(53,168 posts)My favorite part was how bad my ex-wife hated it because it wasnt just like the book. Problem is, a movie just like that book would have been terrible.

(40,945 posts)Few movies are better than the book, but this was one, IMO. And the casting was spot on. Killian couldn't have been cast more perfectly than Richard Dawkins.

(40,945 posts)I never understood why he was a republican. He had a good sense of humor & didn't seem to take himself to seriously, a trait I see in most repubs.

(3,075 posts)he married a Kennedy, he lives in CA where he has pet ponies and donkeys, which he allows in his house according to his social media. But he can be super funny, i remember him poking fun at Sarah Palin on twitter.
