(13,970 posts)why some of us brown and black voters get really annoyed when the welcome mat is rolled for former republicans, whereas some still have to act like they have to hide us.
Many of those people who say they hate Trump will go right back to being the GOP assholes who hate ALL OF US, ALL OF US!, including YOU! Meanwhile, Black and brown walked over broken glass, through covid, and against men with guns to vote, yet when it comes to talking about anything that might move the needle away from they that got theirs, we are old to stay in the basement!

(13,970 posts)and the people we want dessert!
Look, The time when we can be content to give poor people the crumbs and white suburbanites the dessert is over. We are not trying to starve people anyway, as even the richest suburbanite who thinks, not THINKS they are a millionaire is but one medical bill from being downsized. We are not trying to run ahead, but would like to walk With people without worried that someone will shoot us!

(26,525 posts)Explaining Exit Polls
An election exit poll is a survey based on interviews with voters as they leave (or exit) their balloting locations. To estimate the outcome of an election in a particular constituency, a sample of its smallest voting units (often referred to as precincts or polling locations) is drawn and at least one interviewer is assigned to each sampled location on Election Day. On a pre-determined and systematic basis, the interviewer approaches people who have already voted in order to obtain an interview. For example, depending upon the expected number of voters at the sample location, the interviewer may approach every third or fifth person who leaves the voting location. The interviewer usually hands the voter a questionnaire on a clipboard and asks him or her to fill out the questionnaire, fold it up, and deposit it in a survey ballot box. In most instances the exit poll questionnaire is self-administered to protect the privacy of the voter and the confidentiality of each individuals responses.

(34,857 posts)From CNN's article on Georgia exit polls:
The CNN exit poll was conducted by Edison Research for the National Election Pool, a consortium of CNN, ABC News, CBS News and NBC News. Interviews were completed with 5,260 voters in one of three ways: In-person on Election Day at 39 polling places across Georgia, in-person at 25 early voting locations around the state or by telephone for voters who cast ballots by mail or in-person during early voting. Results for the full sample of voters have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, it is larger for subgroups.

Your link is how exit polls were traditionally done before a significant shift toward vote by mail due to the pandemic.

(132,559 posts)one and we went to drive ins as a whole group when we were teens. I have a bad auditory memory and was painfully shy and groups and alcohol helped me come alive. Can't remember if i saw poltergeist in a theatre or a drive in. Don't like horror or fantasy or sci fi films as an adult. Now the horror is in all Americans lives. It is hard to bear. Vibes to you all.
