(11,703 posts)it should keep AOC busy with NOT trying to run for Senate just yet. YMMV

(3,022 posts)on a post where you declare it is Tuesday the date stamp says Wednesday.

(3,022 posts)that doesn't change the date stamp of your post which says Wed Jan 6, 2021, 01:15 AM. Look in the upper left hand corner.

I always thought it was a date stamp from when the post was posted. It's Tuesday for me as well so I am just confused by where that date comes from. Thanks I learned something new or I learned that I something I knew must not be correct.

(3,022 posts)I'm in California and it's just after 6:00 PM on Tuesday.

(57,757 posts)Perhaps you have the wrong time zone set under your DU preferences?
tonedevil
(3,022 posts)you are correct the setting must default to -0 GMT which makes sense. I never said there wasn't an explanation I just saw something that struck me as amusing and I mentioned it.
BainsBane
(57,757 posts)and that is what the date stamp says. You can't post a thread on Jan 6 when it is only Jan 5. Time doesn't work that way.
tonedevil
(3,022 posts)I took? I know what day it is, but the date stamp indicates Wednesday January 6, at a little after 1:00 am. Despite your condescension I do understand how time works maybe you can explain why the website doesn't follow those rules?
BainsBane
(57,757 posts)than in the US. We use our own time zones. You are simply wrong on this.
All I can conclude is that you're in New Zealand or some such place and are upset the US hasn't converted to your time zone.
tonedevil
(3,022 posts)or why you are so invested in the idea that I am not from the US. In fact I am in California and my computer clock is set to -8 GMT on Pacific Time. If you look at the screen shot George II posted and the one I posted you can see they are of the same post with oddly different times. When I saw the post that said it's Tuesday and the time stamp indicated Wednesday I did not know that the same post could show a different time stamp for different users and thought the disparity was amusing. When I look at the original from George II that started this sub the time stamp remains Wed Jan 6, 2021, 1:15 AM and I am pretty sure that the time stamp is still Tuesday Jan 5, 2021, 8:15 PM for George II. I don't have an explanation for what causes this, but I do know you are wrong.

(57,757 posts)Yesterday, you claimed it was Wed. January 6, when it was in fact Tuesday, January 5. Everyone makes mistakes, but what it odd is how adamant you are about your statement being correct, It doesn't comport with reality, especially if you are in California. I was trying to come up with a logical explanation, and the only one that made sense to me is that you were somewhere in the world where it is a day ahead of the US. You say you aren't, which makes your adamancy all the more strange. If you saw a stamp that said Wed, January 6 while it was still Tuesday, Jan. 5, then that time stamp was OBVIOUSLY wrong. There are other ways to check the date, like looking at the date and time on your computer. The timestamp I saw and still see for the OP is January 5.
Today is Jan 6, the day that the electoral college votes are to be certified by congress. That did not happen yesterday.

(3,022 posts)I did not say it was Wednesday I said the date stamp said it was Wednesday while the post said it's Tuesday. In fact if you read post #10 you will see I say that I know it is Tuesday, but I was amused by the juxtaposition. When George II posted his screen shot it did get me curious as to where the date stamp comes from. Because it is persistent I don't think it comes from the persons computer, but it being different for different users looking at the same post makes it even more curious.

(57,757 posts)I'd check those.

(3,022 posts)I have to wonder why the poster is chasing me around declaring the day of the week in the first place.
They did the same thing last night in this thread
Strange.

(57,757 posts)I once joked that if the day had a Y in it, you were posting about AOC. Since then I've observed that you have made a point of posting about other politicians--once Pressley but more often Bernie. I like to think that my comments may have encouraged you to diversify.

(7,681 posts)I post a lot of different stuff and always have.
It's just the AOC threads get more traction. Sadly due to hate posts in large part.
BainsBane
(57,757 posts)But I think there are more of the latter.

(7,681 posts)..it's usually because people are arguing. That's the thing.

(57,757 posts)I could post about Betty McCollum's committee assignments, and it would get virtually no responses. In fact, I'd predict zero responses.
