(13,913 posts)To me the NYT needle is the most accurate given the team takes alot into account, not just current vote count. It was spot on for the general elections. Keep in mind Dekalb cty & more left leaning areas still coming in so these w put both candidates over.

But no money yet, so I had to give about the same. Every bit helps! Last year I was giving monthly to female candidates I liked. Hoping that was a...pay it forward.

(6,268 posts)This is still very much a tossup. There is no reason to have anything but a neutral opinion yet, and all celebrations are premature. We'll need to see.

(6,268 posts)The victor of either race really isn't clear yet. We'll need to wait and see. Hopefully Republican counties underperformed, and Democratic counties overperformed. Also hoping that DeKalb County massively overperformed!

(94 posts)It is tight as a tick. I love Steve Kornacki, but I'm not feeling optimistic until all of the votes are counted. Remember that Georgia is very good at disenfranchising voters.

(22,468 posts)"Republicans continue to hold a narrow lead in the tabulated vote, but Democrats are increasingly clear favorites to win both races for Senate. Over the last hour, Republicans have failed to outperform expectations in relatively Republican areas, leaving them at the mercy of the overwhelmingly Democratic votes that remain in the Atlanta area. To prevail, the Republicans will have to outperform our expectations in these remaining votes by a significant margin, and in the case of Kelly Loeffler an implausible margin. They haven't outperformed our expectations much of anywhere tonight."
This sounds encouraging. Not getting my hopes up, but reading this just now lessened the urge to start tearing my hair out by a good bit.

(3,524 posts)After a year filled with isolation and chaos I see some hope. Maybe a light at the end of the tunnel. No way Mitch is going to be able to herd the batch of deplorables in the Senate. Too bad I can't go and celebrate, but I might live long enough to see our current disaster end.

(57,717 posts)Is this like "a lot of people say"? It sure sounds like it. Perdue is still up by just under 1000. None of the networks have called it. The time to celebrate it is when the race is actually called, not when "people say." Up to 17,000 military votes are coming in on Friday. We may not know the winner until after those are counted.

(57,717 posts)I hope it survives the incoming military ballots that still need to counted, and I hope it survives a recount if he remains less than 0.5 percent in the lead. You think predictions matter. I think results do. I have watched too many elections in which predictions proved to be wrong to put ANY stock in them.
I am not Bub. Nor am I Don Quixote: I do not wish the Republicans to win, as your post implies. Your rudeness is duly noted.
