(63,221 posts)I can't wait to see Chuck and Kamala put him in his place.
I agree though I think Kamala could do the best job at cutting Moscow Mitch down to size. She's a bulldog and I love it!

(15,552 posts)I'm finally going to be able to turn my TV on and watch some news now that I don't have to mute/change channels/shut it off to avoid seeing their ugly, hatefilled faces. I sincerely hope the main news channels move on from the orange jerk's comings and goings so we can start recovering from the PTSD we have all been suffering from.

(15,552 posts)I am generally an optimistic, even keeled person and have been my entire life, but this last four years has seen a change in my demeanor. Today I feel like a weight has been lifted and that I can hope once again for the future of our country. I have always believed that as a people we eventually move forward even if it is at a snail's pace sometimes with some backsliding. The trends I am seeing in the younger generations give me great hope. My last two jobs were working with young people at a state university and a law school, and the younger people that I got to know gave me so much hope.

(63,221 posts)I am very heartened by your observations of the younger people you have encountered. I think we can turn this country around if we all pull together!

(58,785 posts)VP Pence will preside over the senate, no doubt with McConnell's direction, and, presumably the Republican committee chairs will remain in place.
On Jan 20, VP Harris is sworn in and then be able to replace the Republicans chairs with Democrats.

(14,036 posts)He's been doing nothing but obstruct progress so long, revelling in that role, I'd bet he has no taste for actual work, and that his monstrous ego won't abide minority status.

Haha!!
I am retired now but remember going to work for years in a job where I knew that the boss was not pleased with my performance. I was the major bread winner in the family (me and hubby) so I couldnt quit. I had to face this jerk that never saw me as good enuf, but not fire-able. Her expectations were just too high. My union was all that stood between me and a pink slip.
I hope McConnell enjoys a feeling of helplessness every day for as long as possible.

(14,036 posts)His value as a useful tool is largely gone. He's going to feel what it like to be an empty shell (pun intended), grinding it out as so many of us have because of the phony values of republican'ts.
I hope your retirement brings you great joy... the time to do as you wish and as you so deserve. You chose to stick it out for the right reasons. He'll run from the difficulty.
