It's like Bonfire of the Vanities as a documentary. Donald Trump is Sherman McCoy.
When Trump first showed up in NYC, he came out of nowhere. Young millionaire, Man About Town. The press made him look like he owned the City. He could tell off the Mayor. He didn't have to pay taxes and we did. He owned the choicest real estate. Midas Touch. Get in his way? He'll sue you (and bankrupt you). And he believed his own press.
It's all over. Trump essentially exiled himself except there's nowhere for him to go.
