for control of the party. I think Trump will end up controlling a splinter fascist party and someone like Romney will end up leading the rest, leaving Mitch in the dust...unless the Romney faction thinks Mitch and his tactics are useful.

...and he'll give all that and more to Manchin to entice him to flip.

Although the best personal strategy for Manchin is probably to go Independent. If he flips, it's a one time event and a one time "payment". If he goes Independent, it's a power annuity...he can cash chips with either side on a vote by vote basis.

We'll see. Maybe he's got more ethics than have been obvious over the years. I don't think so but I would love to be proven wrong.

... Mitch now Trump can completely split up the kGOP by threatening 20 senators with primaries in 2022 without sharing power or the limelight with Moscow Mitch.

The breakup of the kGOP should be its own feature movie.

Trump has pitted himself against Moscow Mitch in a power play for leadership of the party. With Mitch out of the way, Trump believes that he controls the future of the Republican party.

Instead, the party will fracture, with Trumpists going one way and the rest another way. Trump will be leader of the American Fascist party, which will probably call itself something like the America First party. The rest will regroup and try to re-establish a conservative party, maybe with a new name since Trump has sullied the word Republican (with their willing help). Romney might become leader of the new conservative party.

The split looks good for us on the surface, but the two RW parties might temporarily coopetate in some elections to resist Democratic candidates.

That's how it looks to me, anyway. Could be wrong. Just make sure that we stay together as a party and learn a lesson from their mistakes.

His comment last week saying the $2000 dollars was not needed by people because it was helping the rich probably had something to do with the turnout.

Kentucky, Iowa, SC, and everywhere else that republican senators with approval ratings below 45% won majorities of the vote.... how he, Ernst (doesn't know the price of corn in Iowa), Graham, Collins, etc won still seems shady to me. But -- our side lost gracefully, if not by honest means,.

I was wondering the same thing. How could the Presidential Polls be correct in some states but the Senate polls be so wrong. Something seems fishy.
