Fox anchor: Breaching the Capitol building was "a huge victory" for Trump rioters

MARHA MACCALLUM (FOX ANCHOR): Hearing these reports that there is tear gas being used in the rotunda, as Bret has just reported. The members are being told to get those gas masks that are under their seats. The other big question is where is the vice president. We're told that he was rushed out of the chamber. And this answers the question that I raised before. You know, I was under the assumption that they would be safe in the chamber. That was before we realized that people had actually breached the building and were walking through the rotunda. Obviously this is a huge victory for these protesters. They have disrupted the system in an enormous way.

And I just want to, you know, bring everyone — remind everyone of what happened earlier this week, right. People going to Josh Hawley's house, we've seen spray paint on Mitch McConnell's door, on Nancy Pelosi's door as well, and we've all been sort of tracking the escalation of this. Now look at what you've got now. You have protesters inside the Capitol building in quite an incredible act that I think you could — you know, revolt is a word that, you know, can be used here in some way. These people are peaceful on the stairs.

1. The headline isn't wrong. It IS a huge victory.

It should NEVER have been allowed to happen. It is shameful that is was allowed.

3. I'm afraid you are correct

This will go down as the First Great MAGA battle in the war.

They have gathered video and pics to post. They have ransacked Pelosi and other Demcrats computers.

And I still find it quite suspicious that only a handful of capital police were hired to stand by the doors. When they knew it was coming, and considering the number of guards they had in place when they knew a BLM protest was going to happen. ie. they had experience.

5. There is simply no excuse for this having been allowed to happen.

It's not as if they couldn't have predicted that Trump Thugs would attempt it. This dangerous & destructive breech was allowed, possibly even enabled, by those who should & could have prevented it.



There ought to be numerous arrests, convictions, and sentences imposed, but I'm not holding my breath.
