DC Metro police chief declares this a "riot" HuffPost

Metropolitan Police Chief Robert J. Contee III said a riot was declared after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol. Numerous officers were injured with projectiles, and other rioters used chemical irritants. One woman was shot, Contee confirmed.
Contee said police are still working to "regain control of the Capitol."
