No recount in sight, but the loser candidates can pay to have a recount done!

Congrats to our new Senators. I am thrilled for the state of GA, all DEMS/Progressives, and for the hope of a better near future.

(6,698 posts)if the events in DC had not happened today that the election would be the wall-to-wall coverage today. Not even getting much of a mention now.

(21,615 posts)I phone banked, wrote postcards, and went door to door to GOTV.
I met Jon Ossoff on the Saturday before the election. He is going to be a great senator. I am so proud of him and Reverend Warnock.

(5,381 posts)Funny how these millionaires don't want a recount as soon as it's their own money involved.

(45,013 posts)Well, here's the NY Times (1/6/2021 6PMEST):
Jon Ossoff
2,238,939
50.4%
David Perdue
2,203,324
49.6%
That's a difference of 35,615 votes, or .8 percent -- nearly twice the minimum for a recount
