He needs to be impeached, not 25A'd.

To remove him by 25A is iffy. And what will it get you? 25A will be forgotten in a week after he is removed. He plays golf for two years, and then returns.

Impeach his ass. This denies him the defense of "I didn't do anything, I was mentally ill." And, we can keep him from ever holding office again. This is an issue that will come back to haunt us. Start the impeachment process now.

I don't trust any of these Repubs. Whatever they are doing post insurrection is all show. They as a party still put Party Over Country. Nothing less than an impeached and convicted President will impress them. Now is the time, when they are posturing to appear as Patriots amidst the chaos they created, to impeach Trump. This riot is just another part of the crimes he committed. His blackmail over GA votes is enough to impeach him.

To remove him, and to prevent him from EVER holding any kind of public office. "Late impeachment" would be used for the second purpose.

Trump has indicated that he wants to run again in 2024. Do we want to go through this again?

This is an emergency, we need trump neutralized immediately so he can't cause any more damage.

If, as you say, you don't trust "these repubs", why would you think the repub Senate would vote to convict?

Perdue is out of office. His run was over on January 3rd.

An impeachment would probably not be completed until after the 20th. We have won the Senate.

would realistically take a few days and can be done while he’s “suspended” via the 25th.

If Trump is out of office he’s literally no different than you or me.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is what you’re looking for:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.

his term would have run by then while removal proceeded in future. I oppose misuse of the 25th, but he is demonstrably dangerous and mental examination should be required.

Haul him off now! Before he starts a war with Iran. Or invokes martial law. But he also needs to be impeached.

Some Repub has figured out that 25A is softer and less against Trump than an impeachment. That way, they preserve their options. I want to end Trump's run. Permanently.
