https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/07/ashli-babbitt-woman-shot-and-killed-in-storming-of-us-capitol-named

"A woman shot and killed by police during the storming of the US Capitol by a pro-Donald Trump mob has been named as a 14-year veteran of the US air force and of four foreign military tours, including to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ashli Babbitt, 35, had travelled to Washington DC from San Diego, her husband told the local news station KUSI, adding that she was a passionate Trump supporter.
.....

Less than a day before she joined the Trump loyalist protest, Babbitt, an avowed and public Trump supporter as well as a subscriber to a number of alt-right conspiracy theories, had vowed the insurrectionist movement could never be halted. “Nothing will stop us … they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours … dark to light!” she wrote on Twitter.
....
Tweeting under the handle @CommonAshSense, Babbitt described herself as a veteran and a libertarian. Her social media account is filled with declarations of support for Trump and condemnation of November’s presidential election, which Trump lost.

She also retailed many of the conspiracy theories shared by alt-right groups, including one about a vast network of high-profile and powerful paedophiles. Babbitt regularly retweeted controversial lawyer and conspiracy theorist Lin Wood, a high-profile Trump supporter who has litigated several of the president’s failed lawsuits contesting the election result."....(more)

Most veterans make plans to be buried in a National Cemetery. She may not have yet, as young as she was, but her family may attempt to inter her in one. This should not be allowed. It would dishonor the true veterans interred at that location.

Hell, she should be posthumously be dishonorably discharged so no one can profit from her service or death.

Which W also disgraced by using it to escape service in Vietnam. By faking his way through a hitch in the Air National Guard. A slot he got through his daddy's connections BTW.

Lindsey Graham continues to disgrace the Air Force uniform with his sycophantic embrace of his treasonous "leader" Donald Fucking Trump.

Putting on any uniform is no guarantee of ethics - Tamir Rice and Brionna Taylor would agree if they could

And would never think of supporting terrorism or terrorists. In fact, my oath, which still binds me to the Constitution, requires me to preserve, protect and defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

89. Notice black people are killed, they are identified by the worst thing they ever did in their lives

But when white people are killed, they are characterized by the most laudatory thing in their past.

Trayvon Martin smoked pot. Breanna Taylor once dated a drug dealer.

But a white terrorist shot while breaking into the Capitol during a riot was a "14-year veteran."

Fox news reported this morning that she was "expressing her opinion and got killed for it". I can't even get my head around how twisted this is.

This shouldn't have happened.

I've seen the video (or one of them). I'm sure an investigation will result, & the circumstances don't look good at all for the shooter, but we have to wait for the full story.

The Capitol Police or whatever law enforcement was involved by then really screwed the pooch the whole day.
Heads better roll. If we want to ID a department that needs to be defunded and replaced, this is the one.

As for those insurrectionists, they should be facing prison terms. Death penalty, tho, that's a stretch.

The shooter was in a suit and tie...more than likely a member of the Secret Service. He was doing his job protecting members of congress by any means necessary. She came through a broken window of a door that had been barricaded with chairs from the inside. Video shows the shooter aiming his weapon from a defensive position and from interviews I have seen was warning people not to enter. She went in anyway. Shooter did his duty and she got what she deserved.

Protecting what she tried to destroy. She is a traitor to her nation and the military should change whatever terms she left under to “dishonorable discharge “.

The perpetrator was a 37-year-old Army Special Forces (i.e., Green Beret) guy, specializing in military intelligence. He's also a mass-murdering scumbag! That's his fucking legacy, as far as I'm concerned.

If she's still in any way affiliated with the military, her survivor benefits should be stopped.
