George Will: 'Repulsive' Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley 'must be forevermore shunned'

Raw Story
January 07, 2021
Brad Reed

Conservative Washington Post columnist George Will on Thursday leveled an unsparing attack on President Donald Trump and his two biggest enablers in the United States Senate.

In his latest column, Will said that Trump, along with "repulsive" Sens. Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) "must be forevermore shunned" for their roles in fomenting this week's pro-Trump mob that attacked the Capitol building.

"Hawley announced his intention to object to the certification of some states' electoral votes, for no better reason than that there has been an avalanche of 'allegations' of election irregularities, allegations fomented by the loser of the election," Will wrote. "And Cruz, by organizing support for Hawley among other Republican senators and senators-elect gave Hawley's grotesque self-promotion an ersatz cloak of larger purpose."

Will notes that while Trump will be out of the White House in less than two weeks, Cruz and Hawley will remain in the Senate for the foreseeable future, which leads him to recommended that they be branded with "a scarlet 'S' as a seditionist."

Conspiracy to commit insurrection. First, Schumer has to conjure up the GUTS to expel them, and Garland must then direct his FBI to prosecute. These privileged seditionists need to be indicted for felonies ASAP.

Oh, nothing to see here, just call them bad and walk away, it's really not that bad to foment insurrection, who really cares? Fuck that! Drumpf and they need to be removed - drumpf by impeachment, them by ethics committee.

I don’t know if this is possible but they should receive no committee assignments.

Not one MSM outlet should ever have them on. They should never be asked for comment. About anything. Including the weather or their favorite colors. No invitations to the Sunday shows.

Excluded from every official invitation list. Where possible, not recognized to speak in any debate.

Will has this right. Shun them. Absolutely. Without exception.

But that may not be possible. Let’s start with the possible and go from there. I agree. Every one of these traitors needs to be investigated and, where possible, removed from office, prosecuted, etc.

But other actions can be undertaken immediately by the senate and the media.

were the embryos that spawned the full-blown loons, the difference being they were "elitists" and eventually got uncomfortable when the "extremists" took hold of the concepts they promoted and twisted them beyond comprehension.
