(2,740 posts)That he wont be POTUS by Monday morning. They've sent him to Camp David and I can't imagine anyone would let him in front of a camera again at this point. Even Rick Santorum was saying last night his phone was burning up with people saying "he has to go now". Then you have the National Manufacturing Association saying invoke the 25th now, other Republicans governors and reps.... I can't see this going on much longer..... but how many times have we said that before? I think too many Republicans are angry this time and the money backers in the GOP are done with Trump too.

(17,617 posts)I'm no fan of Pence, but after the way Trump has shoved him under the bus, I wouldn't be so certain that he'd issue a pardon.

(12,654 posts)Pence may be canny enough to realize his political career is over, thrown under the bus by the Trump. MAGAnation will never trust him. Hes dead to them. Unless he calculates that a pardon would win enough of them back. I cant trust him.

(17,617 posts)something to the affect of "after all I did for him" just reminded me too much of an abused wife or women who are married to extreme narcissists and just can't wrap their minds around how their spouse isn't grateful for all they've done for them.

(14,689 posts)He was hoping he'd be a contender in 2024, as long as Dear Leader did not run, along side Cruz and Hawley and the other traitors. He was counting on using his sacrifice in swallowing all of Trump's abuse and enduring the unflinching servitude, no matter how ridiculous his boss acted. He may even have been dreaming of Trump's personal sole endorsement. And he could ride into power on the Trump wave.
But now, he'll be lucky to escape with his life, let alone be heralded by the angry delusional base he was hoping to be supported by as Trump's former right hand man. He'll never be able to "repair" his image enough for them now.
But all that said, he's way too much of a coward not to pardon him if that is the plan

(3,616 posts)the GOP is out of power? I mean you can't pardon somebody who hasn't been charged yet, correct?

(3,616 posts)stay out of jail pardon for anything and everything a POTUS may or may not have done while in office.
With that said, that is some f*cked up.

(69,532 posts)need to call our Senators and Reps to heed this, after yesterday this must be done, or should I say after 4 years.
He's a mob boss, he needs to be held accountable. And all those fascists that were in DC yesterday. And those who infiltrated the Government must be held accountable too.

(8,006 posts)Because impeachment will take a day or two during which time he could inflict untold damage if not restrained.

(12,217 posts)Reportedly, there are at least 3 groups calling for impeachment. Invoking the 25th as an interim measure would not be a bad idea. Even if it was the only legal maneuver to land on Il Douche's head for the time being, that would be fine.
