It's nothing without the Senate removing him, and there are enough teabaggers, Qanon-ers, and other assholes in the senate that it still may not work.

At least if they 25th amendment him, Pence is Acting President until the inauguration.

it still prevents him from running again in 24. need to get him out of there, but that would also be a victory

Impeachment alone is a stain on his record, but that's it. It doesn't have real weight without conviction.

Otherwise, he'd already be banned, given that he's already been impeached.

He'd have to be convicted by 2/3 of the Senate and then the Senate would have to take a second vote to ban him from federal office.

Heard several times this morning: "Pence is very angry."

Don't get me wrong. I have no empathy for Pence. He has spent 4 years behaving like a jerk. But today is a new day and I will give Pence this day to act like a decent human being.

Is Wilbur Ross still alive - haven't heard anything out of him for ages? There's Eugene Scalia in Labor - he's young enough he may want a future career. Azar - maybe. Betsy de Vos still has two weeks of grifting to do so she's busy

in the Capitol and then having to call out the National Guard himself in order to protect himself and Congress from the mob Trump sent over there.

Think that helped him come out of his Trump fog?

It's a wonder that more Repubs haven't come out of their trump fog after being evacuated or hunkered in secure locations for hours. One of yesterday's most chilling images is the picture of a rioter vaulting a brass railing in the Capitol with a fistful of zip ties in his hand. At least one of those goons was looking for hostages.

Is there really any going back to 'business as usual' after what happened, and even worse, what could have happened?

They were very likely planning to just what the Michigan terrorists planned to do to Gov. Whitmer - arrest and "try" Senators and Members of Congress and God knows what afterward.

1 - 25th
2 - Impeachment
3 - Indictments

Ideally. Depends on whether having a hit put on him by Trump will outweigh Pence's lack of a spine.

Regardless how 1 and 2 play out - and I hope the Speaker proceeds with 2 regardless, both because Trump deserves the historical infamy, and because he will focus his rage on the Impeachment instead of burning the country to the ground on his way out - I am on board with 3. There can be no real healing without accountability
