I just heard on WCVB Boston that the checks are being delayed because the IRS sent the initial checks out too soon and the system is severely backlogged. I missed part of the notification but it seems that we should not count on getting this check too soon. This is a major screw-up for a lot of people. Can this government do anything right?
Many of us needed that extra $$$, the plumber is expecting his check this week, house taxes due Feb 1 and then of course there are other bills for all of us.
I have trouble understanding how we have fallen so far but I bet it has something to do with the ineptitude of the tRump administration.

(6,381 posts)scheduled to be mailed 01/06 (yesterday)...I guess it could be a check or a prepaid debit card...This, in spite of the fact that I get SS monthly by direct deposit and the first stimulus payment came that way...so, who knows...may show up in a few days or never...

(65,934 posts)And they say those people have to wait to file their taxes to get a rebate credit. That is disgraceful as there was no chance to change anything. I sure hope the $2000 amount (if sent) turns out better.
