(3,379 posts)It's a simple fact that both Scheetz and the Steelers suck. That said, Fetterman has my full support. I'm in PA and I'm proud to have him as our Lt. Gov. and look forward to his role as Senator.

I had never heard of Scheetz and there are none around here in the Philly area (I think the nearest one is near Allentown or something

(3,379 posts)I think those are the two closest to us (I'm a Philly native living in MontCo).

(171,737 posts)I remember looking on a map.
Meanwhile I have like 3 Wawas within a 2 mile radius and 5 Wawas within a 4 mile radius of where I live in Philly (now I want me a Wawa hoagie
).
Have a box of Wawa coffee k-cup pods that I have been going through the past couple nights and need to get another box my next trip "out".

The smell is intoxicating!!

(29,346 posts)I did not know this. From my perspective as an outsider they're both great
We have plenty of Wawa here in Jersey, but no Sheetz, so whenever I'm in PA I'll usually stop in one of those if I see one. PA knows how to do it right with convenience stores, no doubt.

(171,737 posts)to replace Teabagger Toomey!!!
And I hope that some of the other Democrats here who have been floated as possibles like Josh Shapiro, will consider going for Governor if a decision to run for either position, comes to pass (vs trying to do a primary against Fetterman).

(3,282 posts)is going to attract a lot of attention. He won't be the only one who wants it.
I expect Conner Lamb will be interested in it as well.

(171,737 posts)He just squeaked in and we need to keep our Ds in that type of district until we can find some plausible replacement there.
Fetterman has been "nationalizing" his name (and "brand" ) with his twitter rants, so he can definitely gain from a crossover set of moderate GOP and indie voters as a "populist progressive" cult hero - notably with his fervent push for fully legalizing marijuana here in PA.

(171,737 posts)But for Senator, if he can prevail - that would yield him a 6 year term vs a 4 year term as a governor.
Only thing that might need rectifying and would be hilarious though, is his... ahem... attire! This still cracks me up -
