Is anyone else getting this message on your stimulous check?

When I go to the IRS site, it says:

"Payment #2 Status - Not Available
We are unable to provide the status of your payment right now because:

We don't have enough information yet (we're working on this), or
You're not eligible for a payment."

When I go to FAQs, it says I'll have to file my 2020 tax return before I can get it. I got the last one right away, no problem.

Frustrating.

1) Return it with "Traitor Loser" sharpied on it.
2) Use as toilet paper, especially if supplies get tight again.
3) Put the shredder to use again.

were announced. Yes, I’ll have to claim them both as a credit on my 2020 return. Luckily, Ive always done my own taxes , by hand, so I knew enough not to pay estimated this year and just use the credit(s) to cover my obligation.

Apparently some of those payments have gotten diverted to 3rd party vendors instead of to the correct bank accounts.

My circumstances: I collect Social Security (I'm 69). They deposit my SS money by direct deposit.
Until March of 2020, I was also employed full time. My last two tax filings (for 2018 and 2019), I owed tax money because my withholding did not cover all my assessed taxes, so I sent them a check instead of providing my direct deposit info. This may have delayed my last stimulus check (the one for $1200) by several weeks. I expect this was due to the IRS not having my bank deposit info, so they had to research my bank info through the SS Admin. I expect the same thing will happen this time as well.

Hope this helps.

I retired in Oct., and get direct deposit. I did mail a check to them for 2019.

My husband retired the same time though, and he's already received his in his account.

This happened to my son too and he's homeless so now has to live with us until this is resolved. He has issues, so this isn't going well and he really needs that money now before my husband throws him out for his craziness and he's on the streets in the middle of winter when it gets cold here in No. FL. Praying I can keep things to a simmer and not outright boil until he can get his money and move in with his friend.

is the back log of 2019 tax returns still not processed. You won't get a payment until your 2019 return is processed. There are millions of returns not processed, many of those filed prior to April 15th, 2020.
