Frank Fugliuzzi on MSNBC just now talking about some very serious shit

The next two weeks are the greatest opportunity for our adversaries to strike at the USA. And if they miss this opportunity then another one may never occur.

Chilling.

it was a wink-wink. Because the Military has no authority to keep the nuclear codes from Trump.

He must be impeached rapidly.

Pence isn't Presidential material. He should show some guts and 25A the guy next week. But, he won't.-

If I were Putin, what would be the the worst thing I could right now to the US? Set off a nuke in a US city? It would throw the country into total chaos. And lord knows he's had opportunity to get his folks and material in place to do just about anything.

It would come with (eventually) the utter destruction of what passes for his government at the will of the american majority, and hes smarter than that.

If he wanted something with immediate effect, but not immediate retaliation, hed do something like try crash the power grid for New York or Boston...chaos, but would not necessarily constitute a traditional act of war, and he can deny it was his govt for a bit.

the way to the Super Bowl.

I've been saying, somewhat facetiously for several decades now, that if a country truly wanted to invade us, they'd wait until the WFT is in the Super Bowl. The entire metro area shuts down possibly even more so than any other city whose team plays in that game. Trust me, I've lived in more than one city at a time when the local team is in the Super Bowl. And if the WFT were to win, oh my! It would be at least a week before anyone there would actually notice.

It's in Tampa, this year. They're in the playoffs, favored this week.
There have been plenty of times a team could have, being in the playoffs, but not winning the conference championship.
While not a true home game, in 1984, the 49ers played in Stanford Stadium. Around 50 miles.
They pick the "neutral site" way in advance, so there's always a possibility of a home team playing in the SB.
As to the DC team this year, even if they win, they would almost certainly play no home game. There's only a minute chance they could host a home game.

Just the fact that when the Washington team is in the Superbowl, every single person there is glued to a TV. No cops in evidence on the streets. The Washington Post would have a headline the next day about whether the team won or lost, with at least three pages in the A section about the game. The story of the foreign invasion would be a couple of paragraphs on page 4.

But, I think your post better answered somebody else in the conversation. Not me.
All I was saying was that the site of the Superbowl does not preclude a home game for some team.
I didn't really proffer any opinion on DC.

does during its team's Superbowl appearance. You could drive 100 mph around the Beltway and not be stopped. Or see very many other cars.

And if the team did win, the celebrations would hide a lot of evidence of an invasion.

Clearly our enemies do not understand the sports culture in this country. And yeah, a lot of people are totally uninterested in the first place, or don't care if their own favorite team isn't playing. Meanwhile, if the Washington Team is in the Super Bowl, watch out!

Of course their chances of getting all the way are not good, to put it mildly. So we're probably safe, at least this year.
